after i finished the iff quest and obtained legion do i have some kind of window to play an extended time with him in my group or does the next quest followed by the final quest prevent that from happening? i find legion absolutely hilarious and i would like to recruit as few squadmembers as possible until i get him to play all the squad missions with legion in the group...
is that even possible? and if not is there a mod that stops the final quests from triggering automatically?
i feel like my english isnt working as it should be today so i apologize for any errors you may encounter :)

It really depends on when you recruit him. if you haven't done any loyalty missions then you can take him on any of those but there is only one mission you can complete before the collectors abduct your crew. That mission is really supposed to be legion's loyalty mission. after that if you do other missions if you have yet to do them then you risk not saving your crew. However after you do the suicide mission you can talk to him all you want. Hope it helps. oh if you take legion on tali's loyalty mission.....that's funny.

You're on PC, right? You can get any non Cerberus squaddies early via the Gibbed editor for ME2.

Yes, though I believe it's not necessary as long as you make sure not to take someone own their own recruitment mission.

Like people have said above. You can add him early on using Gibbed save editor. Although you CAN bring him along when you collect the IFF, I've never had any problems doing so.

The only problem is you get reduced dialogue on the Normandy. After you talk to him about his loyalty mission, he'll just keep saying he's building concensus.

On the plus side, you can hear some extra dialogue from him/other NPCs during missions (Archangels recruitment, if you ask Legion to keep him company for example.)
