I am trying to get the finale in which I (human noble) rule with Anora. I thell Anora I will support her if she marries me before the landsmeet, pass all the persuasion checks and all, and have alistair kill Loghain. Though, when the decision come, the game automatically decides that Alistair has to become king, and i have no say in what happens. Did i forget to do something? Or must i let loghain live to attain that ending? I read it somewhere that it was still possible as long as Loghain was not killed by me.

So someone other than Alistair has to fight him and once he surrenders you have to spare him.

As far as I know.



What is possible is for Anora to marry Alistair if you are the one to kill Loghain, maybe you mixed that up?

That sounds like a bug to me, executing or letting him leave in disgrace should fix it.

Was Alistair hardened? He takes much more initiative about the king thing when he's hardened.

If Alistair becomes king, he refuses to execute her and Anora will admit that she would not have been so merciful with Alistair, were the tables turned. If you choose to spare her father's life, she will prove she can indeed be unmerciful and will immediately request that Alistair be executed to prevent rebellions seeking to put him on the throne later. You have the chance to request that she simply let him go and she will merely ask him to relinquish his claim to the throne; at this point Alistair will angrily swear the oath, then leave your party (taking all the equipment he had on him at the time with him). If you are a male Human Noble, it is possible to reign beside her if you choose the right dialogue options to ask for her hand in marriage.

Nah i read that in a walkthrough on gamefaqs. But it's ok. I'll just let the old gramps live

A dev posted in another thread on this the other day. You fight Loghain - but don't kill him. Then you let Alistair kill him. This means she won't marry Al - but she will marry you - and Alistair doesn't become king. I'll see if I can find the thread.

If Alistair is hardened you cannot marry Anora and keep him. You either have to have unhardened Alistair kill Loghain or just get Loghain recruited. (Loghain has some special dialogue for you if you marry his daughter at the epilogue.)

Aaah that's what it is. Alistair is hardened, All right  I got where the problem is now.

It's not a problem anyway, i just want that ending for the achievement, I can't stand Anora, Alistair can have her in my "official" ending lol
