Or people make value judgments on what they find interesting or want in a game and despite concerns about the ending feel that character content is important enough that they're willing to spend money on it.moater boat wrote...
Hey, if people actually loved the ending and they want to buy this that is one thing. While I question their ability to follow a coherent storyline, at least they are consistant. I am talking about the people who were furious about the ending, furious about bioware's dismissive attitude towards them, but then turn around and throw money at them the moment Bioware offers character interactions that should have been in the game in the first place. Doing so makes you a bootlicker, plain and simple.
Liking or not liking certain aspects of the game is not an all or nothing thing. In fact, you might be really suprised to know that a whole spectrum of human opinions can exist! For instance, some people can not care for the ending much but still love the character content of a game and wish to invest in further experiences with it! Incredible!

Just out of curiosity, is this poll being advertised in any other threads? Because only posting it in a thread called "let's not buy this dlc" may only attract people who don't wanna buy it. Just sayin.SyK18 wrote...

Let's get some more votes. Just want a full understanding of how many will not hesitate to throw thier money. If you are gonna wait and see reviews choose the Youtube one and of course the ones who have made up their mind.
Yes it is

Reminds me of the CleverNoob argument. That those who liked the vanilla endings and liked EC are ok, but those who hated the OE and liked EC are those who were dropped by their parents as infants and went full retard. Good job.

How many people are we talking about there, though? I can't think of any forum regulars who have flip-flopped like that.

I have shown interest in this dlc. I started this thread. I have not insulted anyone. No need to make stuff up.
I would like to know what the conspiracy is about. However, I am not going to throw my money blindly at Bioware and have the possibility of being disssapointed. I actually would love to discuss the conspiracy theory with everyone and who the soldiers might be and have. But if you bring in romances, that's when I say to hell with it. If that floats your boat go ahead and buy it.
Your not gonna help the future gamers and games flourish. The developers and publishers will ride you like a pony just like CoD is doing with its. But hey it's your money, spend it however the **** you want. Don't take a stand. I, on the other hand, will try to.

I realize liking certain aspects of the game is not "all or nothing". That's not the point. The point is that standing up for yourself IS an all or nothing thing. Either you do, or you don't. Either you say "You must resolve our outstanding issue before I do any more business with you." Or you say "Thank you sir, may I have another."
Would I like to kick ass with Wrex again? Sure. But I have enough pride to not let the temptation make me crawl back to people that have treated me so dismissively.

I intend to fund DLC of this caliber because few games actually focus on character interaction in this manner. That is something I want to encourage in the future.

I don't know, but I can't imagine that all these people who say they are going to buy this DLC were happy with the ending.

Really? Do you mean the dialogue wheel or the romance aspect? just to clarify.

Neither really. The dialogue wheel is a tool for character interaction. A better word choice may have been character development in hindsight. What has always drawn me to BioWare games is their characters and the ability of the PC to interact with them. Romances are certainly a part of that, but it doesn't even necessarily have to be about them exclusively. I'd probably be just as interested if romance content was being ignored. As far as I can recall, we lack a precedent for BioWare expanding upon the character development of some of their most popular existing characters with additional content. At least anything that seems to put a primary focus in that aspect. What I would really like to see is this sort of stuff filtered into the main game so that I do not have to pay for it in the future, but I intend to use my wallet to show BioWare that I want to see more in that target area in the future.

I'll buy whatever I like. Don't care if that dooms "the future games and gamers (lol @ gamers)" in someone's mind. I don't share his view of a glorious future of games for it to be my problem.
And about CoD, pretty sure the people who spend on their games again and again are happy with it. I doubt people whining about CoD makes the actual fanbase.

Yes you said it. Iam looking at the big picture. Too many devs and publishers are making the same unimaginitive games every year such as games like COD becuase people STILL buy them...the problem is, is the that the devs and publishers are NOT raising the bar on innovation and creativity.
Basically there not going to create awesome games that wow us (because they would actually have to spend time and money to do it,TLC) if people will buy the cheap unimaginitive games every year.
Take...a...stand!
Pretty much.
Yes, you will occasionally see a game like Skyrim pull in 5 million sales. But by and large, you want to know what the heavy hitters year in and year out are? Call of Duty, FIFA, Madden... games that have very little turnover and can be produced quickly on a yearly basis.
Because damn it if that isn't what people seem to want. Why shouldn't the product match what the market is buying? It sounds like the REAL issue is with buyer habits rather than some sort of "accountability" from developers.

Well yes, I'm the only one of my RL-friends who come here. The rest of them are happily unaware of the BSN.

Even if it does disappoint, the $15 will at least show that there is a demand for content of this nature. I'm of the opinion that it is a bit more than I'd really like to pay for it, but it's really the first opportunity I've ever had to show a developer that I want content like this.

Leviathan was Bioware's best selling DLC.
