Who is moderating tonight? This topic needs locked. Flaming and going wayyyy off-topic. Watching the BSN tear itself apart sucks. I am in the middle trying to not get my head blown off by the salvos flying back and forth.

I wouldn't have a problem with anti-smoking people if they didn't seem to be so obnoxious.

But this happened during a birthday dinner for my dad. Me and my brother were visiting him back in my home state, 2 week vacation becasue of winter break. We decide to go to a pretty nice resturant with a smoking section, a nice outdoor one too facing the beach. So we're sitting there, eating, having a good time and pretty much reconnecting after not seeing eachother for a year, when this **** walks up, and tells my dad that he wants him to put out his cigarette becasue it bothers him. He's sitting inside the non-smoking section, but apparently just seeing my dad smoking is getting him upset becuase "I don';t want my kid seeing that."

So my dad, he's like 60, he's dealt with this **** before. He tries to talk to the guy reasonably, telling him he's in the non-smoking section, even offering to change seats so he's not facing their window, but apparently that's not enough. So the guy reaches over and grabs the cigarette out of my dad's hand from across the table. Me and my brother get up and are like "what the **** are you doing?" and he flicks the cigarette at me, probably by accident upon reflection, and that's when me and my brother get into a fight with him.

This whole thing was a ****ing disaster for both of us, and security had to break us up, and it took both of us promising everything would be cool to make sure we all didn't get thrown out the resturaunt.

Needless to say, I don't have a good opinion of those type of guys. Though I did apologize afterwards thanks to my dad freaking scolding me the whole time afterwards.

Nice story, but you shouldn't generalized based on that idiot.

What you have to take from this is that that specific person is clearly a moron. That's not even insulting, it's just a fact. He doesn't want his kid seeing someone smoking, but he's now caused a fight and he's happy with his kid being subjected to violence like that?

I smoked for 7 years, I can't stand the smell now. I cringe whenever I walk passed someone smoking. Some people grease me off or look like they're about to say something. But that's not me being obnoxious and it's certainly not personal. It's just what the smell does to me, it's repulsive now.

And if the dlc turns out to be a dissapointment, then the ones who paid $15 will be the upset ones. I will enjoy or hate it on Youtube, without spending the $15.

So let me see if I've got this straight. We have to hold BioWare ethically accountable by refusing to buy their products... but watching the content they've poured their efforts into for months for free on youtube is totally okay?

That sounds like an awfully mixed message.

Also, the Citadel DLC is so large that it won't fit into a single XBox 360 download. So it sounds like there might be enough content to justify the price point besides a few miscellaneous squad conversations.

Boycotting the DLC won't change the ending. They're done making DLCs after this one so it literally doesn't matter if you chain yourself to a tree that's already been knocked down (figuratively speaking).

Its not about just trying to change the ending...Its about letting the devs and publishers know that innovation and creativity is what will sell and it we will let them know that crap will not do!!!!!

Iam not getting this DLC.

So you know what the quality of the dlc will be? With absolute certainty?

If your all for supporting creativity and innovation, maybe you should actually wait until you can say whether this dlc won't have that or not.

I'm pretty sure he is taking about the big picture. We have to take a stand somewhere, wheter it had been at the release of Leviathan or Omega or now with Citadel. This might be a great dlc or it might be a big dissapointment for many or for few.

Lair of the Shadow Broker was creative, was innovative and nobody disliked it. It was praised and maybe Citadel will be too but i hear no praise for Omega or Leviathan. Nobody complained about LOTSB because it was worth the money spent. I wathced both ME3 dlc's and i believe both should have been in the game including what I have heard about Citadel at this point same goes with From Ashes, but i will try to dvelve well away from that particular dlc. LOTSB had no connection to the story of ME2 it  was truly and side experience a majority enjoyed.

Yes you said it. Iam looking at the big picture. Too many devs and publishers are making the same unimaginitive games every year such as games like COD becuase people STILL buy them...the problem is, is the that the devs and publishers are NOT raising the bar on innovation and creativity.

Basically there not going to create awesome games that wow us (because they would actually have to spend time and money to do it,TLC) if people will buy the cheap unimaginitive games every year.

Take...a...stand!

BSN seems to have become a Free-Fire Zone .

So if you got a target, light'em the f*** up.

Leisurely walking around the forums and coming out unscathed is foolhardy at least.

@KevShep

So your not interesting in the actual product itself, but who made the product, becasue the people who made the product did something you don't like, despite this product being a separate issue from the issue of the thing you don't like.

...okay.

Doesn't make sense to me with the whole "supporting innovation and creativity" thing because it's ignoring the creativity and innovation of the product in question over a past grevience, but whatever.

Just believe whatever you want, freedome fighter. You just believe whatever you want.

That's only true if you actually provided any evidence behind your assertion. You did not.

I think you're being insecure about the positive response from the DLC announcement.

Why can't I like Mass Effect? Why do people try to convince me not to buy things I want. I understand you didn't like the endings. You can rage all you want but I will buy the next DLC. No amount of your hate will affect my decision. Sorry....

Honestly one of the biggest things I was looking forward to in ME3 was a chance to reunite with old companions, to be able to fight together like old times. I didn't expect to be able to fight with everyone again, but I was disappointed that no one aside from Tali and Garrus returned from ME2 and Wrex didn't either, not even as temporary squad mates which would have been more then sufficient for me. This DLC is promising that I get to fight together with everyone like old times. Of course this game was made of broken promises so I'm not going to get myself all excited but if I do see from videos and other people's testimony that this promise is held, I am definitely buying this DLC for fulfilling something I was expecting since the start.

The third one was planned well before Leviathan.  When it comes to Omega you people were all like   "OMG ARIA...BONER!!!"  "OMG MORE MASS EFFECT...BONER!!!" People bought it and most disliked, earning it horrible reviews.  As far as im concerned, you people showed yourselves.  Suckers.

Not really. Omega's response on both BSN and a lot of game sites were pretty mixed if not negative.

Actually you could tell Omega was supposed to be in the game before pre release mainly because of the comics and the fact that she just sat around at the nightclub while not planning on taking back Omega. Aria not take back Omega! BAHAA!!  It was inevitable.

I agree with the OP...

I didn´t buy Javik´s DLC it rwas WRONG to a day-1 DLC with such important character a f*** Prothean!... ME3 was the opportunity to offer a maximum quality video game product, to end a saga in a way that it would be considered a legend among the sci-fi genre... buying this DLC is accepting this mistreatment as normal, even desirable...

we have to make a stand

Not to mention the exceedingly successful multiplayer stuff. Haven't spectre packs been in the top ten of most purchased things on the PS3 and 360 numerous times?

The fact of the matter is is that despite how much certain fans may complain about the ending, they're still going to buy everything (everything) BioWare puts out. This is why I find those fans of Marauder Shields/MEHEM so precious, no matter how strong their 'righteous ire,' they're still going to be putting their money down on the Citadel DLC just like the rest of us. They likely put their money down on Leviathan and Omega, too.

And I wouldn't mind betting that half of them have spent a bunch on multiplayer, too. They sure put down a lot of money for supposed BioWare haters. It's funny, I think it was Mike Gamble who said that the same people who shake his hand at conventions are those who flame him here on BSN.

Hooray for hypocrisy and all that.
