what's sad about it? I don't understand, asari are very adaptable, they focus on the time spent with the partner, Liara will have many more partners in her life, and also look at the bright side, you'll be old grandpa/grandma and Liara will still be awesome young sexy scaly blue alien with you in bed ;)

DUDE IM STEALING YOUR SIGNATURE. Tevos is def the hottest asari!!

No, No. You want sad, Romance Miri in ME2, Then break up with her. Then go do Sanctuary.

Or, and I know someone who did this- idiot. Get tali's loyalty and Legion- but have tali still exiled In ME2- Then choose the Geth on Priority Rannoch. Tali was his romance since ME1, he never went with anyone else. I watched this- I haven't seen a lot of 21 year old Male D-1 football players cry over video games. It was.... Amusing.

I wonder if the Asari would have many partners throughout their life. I don't expect anyone to stay faithful to one person for several centuries.

This.

Why would anyone torture him/herself by not letting go and carrying on? I bet that "space" is filled with other engrosing persons.

Plus, she can always think of Shepard while she does it.

260, around and about, though with Shepard's implants there's no real telling how long she'll live for.

Not that I'm suggesting that headcanoning the Commander to living a convenient 1000 years is a good idea, but you know, there's scope for imagination.

Or you could choose Control and have the Shepalyst engineer you a super powered mobile platform a la EDI.

I've never got the angst ove Liara living for a long time. It seems like a good thing to me.

More concerning to me would be whether the relationship could survive between OldShep and a still young Liara.

Like, she'll live to be 1000, when Shep dies of old age (if s/he picks destroy etc) Liara will be what, only 200 years old? It would have been heartbreaking if Liara brought this up in conversation. I would have been in a pool of my own tears.

How do you know Shep lives in the destroy ending?  You dont hear anyone around to help him.  He's bleeding out - he was before the citadel exploded,  he definitely would be after crashing to earth or even getting blasted to another part of the citadel.  *ahem*  the magic word is "closure",  there is none.

It's been confirmed.

OP: You do realise that it is extremely uncommon for both partners to die at the same time barring accidents and such?

If anything, it's the obsession with "true love" in fiction that's not healthy.

this

really I think that's the main problem with the Liara-hate going around

everyone says Liara's the LI the devs like, therefore she gets more screentime and she's considered the 'right' choice

but love isn't like that - you don't necessarily fall in love with the person who is by your side all the time, or the person who seems to be the best fit for you

we fall for the Kellys, the people in the background just waiting to be noticed, and the Thanes, where it's impossible to have a long-term relationship but that won't stop us from enjoying the time we have, or the Jacks, where they've got their own boatload of issues to deal with but it doesn't matter because love isn't a predestined meeting of two ideally compatible people. It's messy.

But if you fry your ass choosing control or synthesis did you really care in the first place? Come to think of it if you romanced anyone and chose those did you really care in the first place? The answer is NO.

Wack mindset.

I think most Asari would have multiple partners throughout their life, unless they settled down with another Asari.

I wouldn't consider that 'unfaithful' however. Their previous spouse/bondmate would be dead.

Lawd once I romanced Ashley in ME1 and Miranda in ME2. I broke up with Miranda in ME3 and she walked away with tears running down her face ;A; and I reloaded and went with Miranda instead. Who knew Miranda was going to be the character who took a breakup the hardest? I didn't have it in me man. Just didn't

Yeah, that was a bit of a shock. After all if Shepard breaks it off with Miranda in ME2 she isn't exactly happy with it, but she doesn't break down into a puddle of tears. She gets mildly annoyed and has a 'let's get back to work' attitude.

I guess in her case absence really did make the heart grow fonder.

>_>

Yeah I suppose. I just find it tragic that if Shepard is Liara's true love that he's only going to be around for like, less than a quarter of her life in best case scenario terms. And I also find it more sad now hearing all you guys saying Liara is gonna have many more bondmates after Shepard. Poor Shep. rip

I like it though, it really adds to her character of being a huge softie under the icey exterior. I would have expected that kind of reaction with Liara who basically lives and breathes Shepard, but even she just shrugs it off. :?
