I believe they're should be Female, and Male depictions of preexisting Demons types. For Examples, a Male Desire Demon. I know when people think of primordial emotions such as lust; people may envisage a female incarnation that invokes lust/desire, but can also radiate evil. I would also like to see individualised demons with different characteristics. I think from a cost perspective it easy to adopt the same model for mutiple basic npcs. If you were to add some slight distiguishing characteristic that be beneficial, making each encounter with demonic kind at the very least differential.

The thing is, spirits and demons don't really have genders. The desire demon appears as whoever it chooses. But from a design perspective, I imagine it's easier for everyone to stick to one model.
