Ok, I did a search and couldn't find a topic covering this, so here goes...
I managed to get past the glitch where Vaughan just snores at you when you try to free him from the dungeon, and subsequently persuaded him to give me the key to his lockbox. According to all the sources I can find, this lockbox is meant to the in the 'treasury' room with all the piles of gold etc. Except it's not... what do I do? I need those 40 sovereigns!

The box is in the room where the guard is getting, hmmmm, taken care of by one of the maids.

Ahhh! I've had him talk to me or snore continuously, and thought it was just random whether or not he responded. LOL

The Wiki says that, if he doesn't respond, you need to interact with the cell door instead. This is sort of true, but what they don't mention is that you have to reload the area first (going upstairs and back down will do) and then interact with JUST the door - don't try to talk to him first.

Are you sure? I can't see it. I have stood in the middle of the area and done the Xbox 360 trick of bringing up the circle menu to highlight everything in the area you can interact with (this shows doors, chests, bodies etc) and I can't see it anywhere
