The following information will guide you on how to re-download an existing product code for your system:

For the PC:

  • Launch your Origin Client.

  • Sign into the client using the account that originally downloaded the Online Pass.

  • Navigate to the 'My Games' menu

  • Mouse over the game specific to the Online Pass in question

  • Click on the 'i' button on the box that appears to open the game product page

It has happened to me twice and it's a server side issue. You need to contact the help desk via the Origin chat box and have them reset it. Don't take no for an answer.

Then you're supposed to find the button that lets you again download your online pass. However, see the bottom of the pages of this link:

There is no online pass for the PC.

It's a disgrace that this false instruction is still remaining unchanged. I remember the first time I had this problem almost a year ago and finding this "help page" by google. My only thought was "dafuq?" The in-game error message is also wrong since PC players don't have to buy/redeem online passes to begin with.

EA could have enabled the player's to fix this problem themselves by releasing a "Reauthorize Online Pass" tool long ago, but no, that's too time consuming and complicated to make! Instead they actually want EA live chat flooded with Online Pass reactivation requests. And let's not forget that PC exclusive patches are forbidden, all patches must be made consoles in mind and then released with synchronized content achieving a maximum "cost efficiency". Ratification via XBLA and PSN costs money, but it's as if they forget that PC patching is much easier and more flexible.

I know right? It seems EA is too big and cumbersome that most of these possible suggestions of improvement (like PC text chat, Controller support and DLC reauthorization tool) get buried under the sheer mass of bureaucracy and overdone standardization.
