As some of you may know the ps4 has been announced (click here for angry joes impression) and it has been said the PSN will not be able to import to the PS4. So to my point if da3 is on next gen consoles how will playstation DA fans import what they have done in DA:O & DA2? The only way I can see is if Bioware uses BSN to store progress and then when you connect uploads.

Edit   For Joes video skip to 16 for bad points watch from the start for good points

Genesis style 'pick what you did'.

Edit:  I realized not everyone played ME.  When ME2 came to the PS3, ME1 had not released for the system yet.  So BioWare provided an intro, called 'Genesis', that let you make choices on how your character would have reacted to various major events in ME1 had you been able to play it.  Granted, it was something of a sub-standard implementation since it left out some pretty big choices, and an entire planet, but the idea was decent.  They could do the same here.

The same would be true if the XBOX 720 (or whatever) comes out and DA:I is released on that.

And actually, as someone who plays on the XBOX, I'd be fine with that. This whole "import your world" thing seems more trouble than its worth.

I'm of the same mind but BW seem dead set on it

They do, and over all, I like the idea.

I just don't like how it's working.

You know its possible that Bioware may rerelease DA:O and DA2 for the new consoles.

Beside that they might work on a way to convert saves to the relevant software.

PSN plus has cloud save storage, Sony said something about streaming/supporting older games on PS4. if not we could get some type of genesis comic like ME,

They might.  But it would be annoying to have to replay two games just to have my world import.

And, as I mentioned, my personal opinion is that the import process isn't working out well, so I don't know that it would be worth it.

For me, this is really important. If I can't keep the exact continuity of my world in DA3, then I seriously consider if the game is worth my money. I don't care if it's "difficult" on my side to achieve, but it still should be possible for my save and the characters I worked hard on to be relevant in Inquisition.

Meh replaying Origins doesn't really bother me, I'd probably replay it anyway before DA:I comes out, but I do hate the thoughts of replaying DA2.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I had seen somewhere that some games like watchdogs from ubi-soft will have two versions? One for PS3 and the PS4. Maybe they'll do that for DA3

The PS4 can import your PSN purchases I thought, it can't import the disc saves. Either way it doesn't matter to me since I doubt it will be a traditional import.

EDIT: Nevermind.

No one has ever said though that DA:I is going to be a PS4 game..... And even if it was, for some reason, it'd probably have a dual-release with a PS3 version.
Now, a DA4 I'd be more worried about.. But I suspect this issue would already be tackled by then in some way (cloud storage anyone?)

The import from DA:O to DA2 was severely broken anyway. My ME3 import got broken as well, so I am ditching imports from Bioware games from now on, anyway. Tired of being told "I didn`t play the previous game correctly).

if you watch Joes video he says cloud storage for ps3 won't be used in the ps4

Given that the saves do somewhat linkup currently to the BSN as is. It may be possible for Bioware to use that as a means to export the game data to the BSN, and then import game state to DA3.

Well I can see good and bad in this, The good: I don't need to play DAII to get my choices from DAO to DAIIII. The bad: If there is going to be a comic then I'm not sure that will they include some choices like the Warden becoming a king. Also I can't import my character if he would be seen in the game.

The problem is getting Microsoft and Sony to work with an idea like that.  They are extremely protective of the information they release, there was a lot of problem with Mass Effect 3's weekend challenges for several weeks and that was information just being sent from the console.  I would expect a lot more issues with sending information to the consoles.

My personal belief is that if the import doesn't work it will be either a checklist option, a "Genesis" option, or predefined choices like Dragon Age 2.

I still hope they release a character creator before the game drops. Part of the character generator would be toggles with conflict checking to cover major and minor choices from the first two games.

simple fix around since these systems will most likely be able to go online,be able to import your two saves online then port the online saves to influence your copy of DA:3

Going back and looking there really isn't that much from Dragon Age: Origins that imports to Dragon Age 2.  I went to the wiki and they list 18 choices that import to Dragon Age 2, eight of them are just codex entries, seven are based on DLC (some are just a codex entry), and the rest seem to be minor quests.  The one thing that seems important to me from Dragon Age: Origins is Alistar because it is a direct link between the two games, the rest are text and minor quests that seem to be just a soft connection to Dragon Age: Origins.
