I wasn't nailing wave 7 v cerberus, glacier last night doing a standing missile. A few times the team had positioning problems or lack of recon mine but I'm pretty sure I screwed up too. It seems like there aren't any bosses just a bunch of phantoms & dragoons which disperse very quickly.
Am used to delays on wave 1 & 4 - is the only 'trick' for wave 7 letting that itchy trigger finger do it's thing ASAP to control the mooks before they hit splitsville?
We also had a few random spawns on LZ in early waves which could've been due to running missiles. Are running missiles more likely to have some spawn splitting (phantoms on LZ?) or are the phantoms on LZ just one of those things you deal with?
Overall there was much more.... improvisation (and fun) but a little less speed.

Not sure where the question is in that, but I've seen wave 7 be 4-5 spawns worth of goons and phantoms too. Don't remember if bosses have showed up outside the spawn zone for clean up, but yeah, they happen pretty quick. It's deceiving bc you can easily heistate by wondering where the bosses are.

If standing still wasn't working, try running down to the lower basement for the first spawn (because yes, those sneaky phantoms and dragoons are quick and will try to run up the back ramp as soon as they break loose), and back up to the hall for second spawn, repeat, repeat. Having a recon mine in both spawn spots does help with this, as well as speed bonus like adrenaline module.
So to summarise wave 7 can be a full-on mook spawnfest which is why we split 7 for one player and 8-9 for another. Don't hesitate to missile mooks quickly and be thorough. The player is this spot should have spare missiles so use them!!!
Thanks jkthunder

Yes, No bosses on wave 7 (phantoms, bombers, pyros, and hunters) takes 4 to 6 rockets. You will be rocketing all mook level enemies so don't hesitate or they will split heavily.

What do you think about wave 7 Glacier spawns Bechter - Run back and forth or stay still? If you run back and forth you have to be really fast (having a recon mine in both spawn spots is really helpful for this). If you stand still you have to pretty exact with missile placement and timing. Either way, it's easy for spawns to go wild if they aren't caught in time, which is why wave 7 is usually at least 5 missiles (just to be sure!). Whoever has wave 7 can also afford to use a couple of missiles for clean up after objectives if there's a good opportunity, or if you get a full-on rogue spawn.

On glacier I think standing is the best without question.

You don't get phantoms jumping on lz by doing standing.
Easier and faster overall.

While it's out there, do you think standing or moving between the two places is better on Glacier on normal rounds? I was always told it didn't matter, except on wave 7, but people were mad at me because I moved between the two spots on Waves 8 and 9.
Our best runs have been from standing and rocketing (Glacier). You don't lose much by running back and forth on most waves. We got it down to a science for the most part. Runs are noticeably "smoother" when I run with long time Arelexians. There is alot of "feel" and experience that goes into a run. It's not as mechanical as people think it is. Also to take it to the next level you need to be able to handle when things don't go as planned.
