Hi all, I'm almost done with this run-through & am getting ready to save the Duke Eltan.
For what it's worth, I'm using BGEE with the latest update (Feb 22), but I don't think that has bearing on my question.
I happended to be reading Sarevok's Diary, which I haven't really done in the past.
He mentions Reilter meeting with the Knight's of the Shield. I'd read that somewhere else recently and it picqued my interest.
Can someone explain to me their relation to the storyline? I read in The Forgotten Realms Wiki that, "The Knights of the Shield are expert wielders and manipulators of information who pose as a group of merchants and nobles interested in mercantile activities."
Based on that discription, my question is, where, if any, does the PC come into contact with the Knights of the Shield? I've always knock out the Seven Suns sidequest, the Merchant League etc. Is it one of these?
Are they really Knights or is that just the name they give themselves? My thought when I read the title is that they are a group like The Order of the Radiant Heart in BGII.
Any help or enlightenment is appreciated.

The PC doesn't meet the Knights of the Shield. Some info on them here: http://www.realmshel...erdeep10.shtml. Allthough they're not totally evil they did try to topple the Lords of Waterdeep and gain control of the city. In 3.5e they're actually a playable class, limited to lawful alignments. Presumably they wouldn't be above scheming with the Iron Throne.

@Fd: Hey thanks. I really like that web page. I'd like to read the books that cover the Faerun and the NPCs we use in the game but I don't know where to find them or which one is the first one.
I see paperbacks with 'D&D' on the cover and they mention, e.g. Elminster but usually they're somewhere in the middle of the series.
Anyway, thanks for the info. Miss you in the MRC...of course, there's no one in there but me now. LOL

If you want to read the novels about Elminster in chronological order: http://en.wikipedia....lminster_Series
The novels about the Time of Troubles in chronological order: http://forgottenreal...i/Avatar_series
Novels about Drizzt in chronological order: http://forgottenreal...Drizzt_Do'Urden
Skip the Baldur's Gate novels. Consensus is they're crappy.(and i agree).
Edit: if you're interested in the Planes, this site contains a wealth of information: http://www.planewalker.com/
