I'll agree with the Zaeedesque conversations, but not the autodialogue
Ya know, I found the autodialogue to be a neccessary evil. With the sheer amount of dialogue they needed to program into the game... it HAD to be streamlined somehow. Had they kept all the neutral decisions (which by the numbers suggested weren't all that often used) and all the various unnecessary "have to put a dialogue option here or people will whine they don't have control" points... the amount they would have had to record and program would have been three times as much (and completely blown whatever budget they may or may not have had out of the water).

(ok, Samara's are amazing -they're huge and blue!)
But they're just great characters and I'm not mad at EDI taking up a squad mate spot in ME3. I am a little disappointed Samara isn't an LI, when we know she has feelings for Shepard, but oh well.

ME2 was treated as nothing more than a playground by the writes, where they did whatever they wanted with no heed for the bigger picture. Which hurted the franchise and resulted in some things people hated ME3 for (The contrived timing of the crucible, many characters sidelined), when the blame lies with ME2.
Javik was a terrible concept that should never should have made it into the game in the first place (though kuddos to his writer for managing to do the best one could have done with it).
While I like ME2/3 Garrus, I wished they had not dropped his C-sec/Spectre plotline from ME1 in favor of turning him into a vigilante. And by ME3 the character had overstayed his welcome.
I thought Tali being promoted to admiral was somewhat silly.
ME2Shepard felt way too stoic considering the events that befall him.
Oleg, while not abysmal like all other ME3 villains, is overrated.
Thane is some of the worst fanservice ever and I always kill him on purpose during the SM.
Jack was a terrible and predictable character, she always get burned to a crisp by the occulus in ME2.
ME3MP never should have existed.

Yeah, I find him much more interesting then other squadmates. But the question remains, did you romance Morinth? (Well, sort of romance anyway)ForThessia wrote...

I only saved Morinth once actually since I like Samara, and Morinth gets screwed over in ME3..... I consider killing her to be doing her a favor.......

2. The endings are great.
3. Mass Effect 3 is the best game of 2012.
4. Control is the happiest ending.
5. Mass Effect 3 has the best Citadel hub.

Well, since not liking Liara seems quite popular in this thread, I will counter with: I DID like Liara, but only in ME3. I thought she was too much the geeky virginal sort in ME1, swung way too far the other way in ME2, but struck a sort of nice balance in ME3.
I'd agree with this. I had no interest in Liara as a character until LotSB and ME3. Hell, if she acted like she did in ME3 in ME1, she might have been my LI.

Me too. I have fallen back in love with ME3 as well.
I liked James Vega.
I think the Geth are idiots.

- I've always found Zaeed to be a whiny, petulant man-child.
- The idea that the Geth or EDI can be "rebuilt" sickens me.
- ME2 had way too many squadmates, most of which were useless.
- ME3 was both the most and least polished game in the series.
- I really want a ME RTS, even if it is extremely impractical and cheapens the series.
- The Geth are far more at fault than the Quarians.
- The ability to save the council is one of ME's biggest failings.

OP, I'm glad you created this thread. I agree with every point you made aprt from Jacob's demeanour being anything other than a reflection of his professionalism, not his skin colour.
It's funny that you'd say that. Back in 2010-2011, I never even fathomed that it was because of skin color until others brought up the idea that he was more relatable because of it. I'd really rather not have race play into anything, but it was suggested often enough that I thought it might have some weight to it. I'm glad someone else feels that way.

I can't possibly put enough "LOL"'s in this post to live up to what you posted.
OT: I'm totally ok with Thane dying, I neither like nor dislike Liara, and I also don't believe Mass Effect 2 to be this great diversion that took away from the main story like everyone makes it out as.

-Loved Kai-Leng for his anti-shepard concept, hated the implimentation.
-Missed Harbinger in ME3 but also liked the way he was handled. Was completely taken by surprise and had to take a mental step back the first time I saw him drop in at the end. It was a frantic at-the-end-of-their-ropes all-or-nothing encounter that I loved. Still do.
-Loved the concept behind the ending, just didn't care for the vagueness of the original. The EC isn't perfect, but I still like it.
-Garrus & Wrex are neat characters on their own, but I hate the overpowering bromance they force down your throat. Mordin is my bro far more than those two.
-I support the geth, but Legion p---- me the f--- off in ME3. He completely backtracked on his ideals and morals by exploiting the reaper code to upgrade himself. Thought he was cool up until this, then I could no longer trust him.
-Tali needs to grow a backbone. Period.

Liek the only thing it had going for them is a compelz leveling up system and equipment choices. That's it.

I have to second the part about ME1, honestly. It serves its purpose greatly and I love the main storyline but the avalanche of inventory and copy-and-paste sidequests make it tough to play through a lot.

- I think refusal, despite it's many faults, is still the best ending of the bunch we were given.
- I much prefer the geth characterisation in ME2 to ME3, and I really disliked Legion's ME3 character arc.
- I don't think Jacob is boring (in ME2, at least: his ME3 arc didn't grab me).
- Loved EDI's character arc but I think it would have meant more without the infiltration unit.
- I think synthetics are completely equal to organics.
- I thought that Garrus and Tali were both boring in ME1, Tali in particular. (Disclaimer: they both grew on me tremendously, and that has made them retroactively less boring).
- I think one could make a perfectly reasonable argument for not curing the Genophage, even with Wrex as leader.
- I would be pretty happy if I never read/heard another calibrations joke in my life.
Okay, one more:
- Even though I thought the great potential an on-ship war reporter could have brought to the plot was largely wasted, I liked Allers well enough as a character. She was fine.
