Can BW be trusted with another £100 of your money and another 100+ hours of your time?

EA and BioWare certainly cares about us/our money.
So why should be another Mass Effect game be any different than Mass Effect 3?
Just go for it BioWare.
go for it
yes
do it

I certainly wasn't as disappointed as some around here seem to be, but I really can't say the ending was worthy to be the ending of such a great trilogy, in my opinion.

I will of course observe Bioware's future games and will play some of their past ones so I can see with my own eyes how great they once were :P

Well, BioWare games have often had underwhelming endings, at least as often as great ones. KOTOR 1's ending was super cliche, Baldur's Gate was bad and BG2's was only good after Throne of Baal. DA2 was also disappointing. I don't remember Jade Empire's ending but since I found the whole game disappointing I suspect I didn't like the ending.

I liked ME2's ending. ME1's is like KOTOR: corny. ME3 has both big highs and big lows.

In other words, ME3 hasn't really changed my opinion. Video games often don't work as hard on endings as they should.

Yeah, I trust that they can still make the generic "Kill the main bad guy and win because you're awesome" endings. Pretty much anyone can.

I only base that statement off of the absolute love the DAO, ME1 and 2's endings get around here.

Yes I do trust them, I enjoyed the ending. I picked control for my paragon shep and destroy for renegade. My paragon shep would protect the galaxy and help rebuild. My renegade shep would destroy the enemy, no matter the casualties I will be getting the next mass effect, no matter the ratings, no matter the plot. Whether its a sequel or prequel, I WILL stay loyal to bioware. Again this is just MY opinion. Also I'm super stoked for the new MP and SP DLC, I **** myself when I heard about them.

No way. They're going to blow Dragon Age 3.... Oh wait they already did with dragon age 2.

They're not the same company capable of delivering great stories and narratives after the departure of Karpyshyn.

I just hope they don't resurect Jade Empire and ruin it.

Please BioWare leave it alone. Also, don't make another Mass Effect game. Please don't.

p.s. I'm going to buy the new DLC. Why? Because I can almost guarantee that it will be the best part of ME3. Why? Because of ME2 and the characters it established, that were butchered in ME3.

The only reason we're getting this DLC, is because of the ending fiasco. So that's one positive that came out of it. I really think this DLC was not pre-planned like Leviathan and Omega and from ashes. And that's a good thing. Just my 2 cents.

Dragon Age 2 was better than the most overrated Bioware game ever; Jade Empire.

They only seem to know how to do two endings.

1). Protagonist dies.
2). Protagonist "mysteriously disappears."

Dragon Age: Origins was the exception to this rule until Dragon Age 2 was released, where it retroactively changed the ending players could have chosen to Stock Ending #2.

Moral of the story: don't get too attached to your playable character in BioWare games. It'll only end badly for you.

This is reminder that, regardless of your opinion on this topic, we can disagree with each other without resorting to childish behaviour, name-calling, swearing, or insults. Thank you.

In two years or so when ME4 comes out... I bet you anything that the ending will be brought up again and people would be still whining about it.

Can you ever trust anyone to finish a story that you've become invested in in exactly the way you'd want?

But yes, as much as is possible.

MEHEM and Marauder Shields say hi. It is entirely possible to end a story in a satisfying way without getting absolutely everything perfect. Tacking on the ending from another game without making any effort to knit it into your game is a recipe for disaster, however. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, Youtube the ending for Deus Ex. Or watch the video mashup someone made of their endings: Shepard talking to the computer from Deus Ex. The two games' endings are so nearly identical that the resulting conversation is coherent.)

Some game endings have been better than others, but ME3's was the first that had me staring at the screen going "Wait, that was the good ending?"  And then questioning the point of the entire trilogy.

Well, after playing their Mass Effect series and Dragon Age Origins... No, I don't trust them. Both plots feel very similar... Ancient evil rising, you are the chosen, get a bunch of people together, win (okay, this part is questionable... I only beat DA:O once, so I don't know the other endings... and I count refuse as win, since the next cycle wins anyway).

Whoops, was not reading properly... Well, endings to both games were meh to me, anyway... It was the music that caught my attention in EC... I didn't really care much. I liked the idea of Synthesis, though...

I do, however, trust them to create interesting characters for me to meet, so I'm getting the next game... just for those characters...

I don't distrust them. They made the original Mass Effect after all.

Assuming they learned from ME3, they can redeem themselves. And if they aren't rushed next time, I see no reason to expect something bad.
