That being said.....no, I think bioware wont make any games which will suit me anymore. I see a trend starting with DA2 which I don't like, the constant dumbing down of games, more and more cliché stories, day one DLC etc. etc.

They reached their zenith with Kotor/ME1/ME2 (altough even in ME2 there were certain unfortunate "trends" noticable) imho and I am not sure they will ever again make such entertaining games.

+1

...though I must admit I might've felt differently if not for that ending. I was thinking "WTF this is stupid!" a fair bit throughout ME2 but that suicide mission (minus the Terminator bit) got me so pumped up I ended up feeling quite positive about the game. I had a lot of WTF moments throughout ME3 but I was still really enjoying the crap out of it until I hit that ending.

Still, I really wish they'd go back to doing games like ME1 and Kotor, but I think the ship has sailed on that one.

I am sure that the Citadel DLC will be another pointless DLC anyway for me Bioware are already dead and i am sure that most of their fans thinks like me why you gonna ask cos they are too stubborn to fix the destroy ending of course they have another chance if they make sequel with Shepard i am sure that fans will forgive them but they not gonna do it

Up in the air but i would say the odds are against it. There are some times they have said one thing just to do the opposite(refusal ending, arrival, overload, etc.)and if they would why say it and take the AH Ha! factor out of it,then march the 6th suddenly they a look like heros.
Now a multitude of reason the won't such as the 4th story elements, fear of more failure, pride or EA who knows it is over 4.0gb according to some and said to be compressed heavily and may be larger by others thus these 2 weeks may revive or break the series.

Adopting a wait and see tactic until further notice - maybe theyll learn from their mistakes, but at the moment I lean towards a ''no''

Can you ever trust anyone to finish a story that you've become invested in in exactly the way you'd want?

But yes, as much as is possible.

MEHEM and Marauder Shields say hi. It is entirely possible to end a story in a satisfying way without getting absolutely everything perfect. Tacking on the ending from another game without making any effort to knit it into your game is a recipe for disaster, however. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, Youtube the ending for Deus Ex. Or watch the video mashup someone made of their endings: Shepard talking to the computer from Deus Ex. The two games' endings are so nearly identical that the resulting conversation is coherent.)

LOL

That's just incredible....how in the hell haven't they been sued by the writers of Deus Ex?

ME3's ending is almost word for word lifted from it.

Tin foil hat time.

Ever wonder why Final Fantasy XIII-2 randomly got a paid ME3 costume DLC less than a month after ME3's release? Odd considering Japan is one of BioWare's least successful locales.

Yes to the max.

I loved Mass Effect 3's innovation and unorthodox story.

It also gave us a wonderful perspective of war from the media, and Kai Leng, on of the best characters ever.

not odd .. clever.

its a subtile way to add mass effects art into a well known medium. even if only few people buy it, they will see the stuff in the shop.

this is a form of advertisement.

of the people who are here on the forum - maybe.

a lot of people simply dont care anymore.

i am not certain about buying me3-dlc ... if the new dlc is good, i might buy it. i may even buy the other ones - whenever they are on sale. headcanon makes it somehow possible.

future games - most likely not .. i am done with mass effect, because to me, mass effect is shepard. i did not buy da2 and i still regret buying the collectors edition of swtor. i will certainly not buy mass effect 4 (except shepard makes a return - what will not happen).

dragon age was dead to me, when the devs made their "button - awesome"-thing and i played the demo(really .. exploding darkspawn and nobody gets sick, except the redshirt?). atm, bioware has no existing universe, i have an interest in.

other mothers have beautiful daughters too.

...I expect that they won't let thier PR buzz lead to the Twitter backlash since lets be honest they brought alot of the backlash on themselves with how much they promoted the game.

I believe that Bioware still has the potential to create a new game that will be a fan favorite.  But I don't know if EA will let that happen; whether through ignorance of their fan base, cutting corners, or bean-counters and MBAs trumping good product.

I haven't given up on Bioware but I am wary of EA's commitment to releasing games the gaming community raves about for the story, the character relationships, the gameplay itself, and the ending(s).

Will I pre-order Collector Editions in the future?  I'm a lot less likely to do so after the disappointments of ME3 SP and what I heard about DA2.

I think that depends on the person,, I vowed never to buy a Bioware product again back in March last year and have stuck by that, picked up the Witchers on Steam Sale instead of spending money on pointless DLC that have no purpose. The Citadel DLC will also be avoided and instead I'll put the money into waiting for the new Cyberpunk game from CD Project.

To answer the OP's question, after DA2 and ME3 and their response to the whole Ending Debacle, no I have no faith in the production values or capabilites of the company, I can't imagine any new product from them that would change that.

They're one and the same, more or less. EA has complete control over BioWare, and they tend to put that power to use quite a bit.

Someone earlier on here said that if the writers of the ending (hudson+walters) came out and added some real insight into what they were thinking when they wrote it...why they wrote it the way they did that it would help. I agree, I think it would smooth things over more to just..TALK to the fans (also the "well we wanted fans to talk about it" is not insight). They don't much though..Walters, Hudson, and Gamble too. And when they do...I don't care for their attitude. When I see videos from events where they finally interact they're kind of...laughing at people. It's like they don't take us seriously. That bothers me. "Lol it is the way it is deadl with it". Harsh, I know but sometimes with those three that's how I feel.

Patrick is great, he's a gamer's dev. Thus he'll likely never be promoted :(

Ultimately I think a big part of the issue rests with Gamble, Walters, and Hudson. The multiplayer portion of has seen a lot love. And look at the guys who make it...they're on the forums a lot, interacting with players.

I thought omega was good. Lots of chances to speak your mind, and it has multiple variations of the ending depending on how you act. Say what you will, it was what ME3's ending should have been handled like.

So, will I buy another BW game? If hudson, walters, or gamble are in charge no. Otherwise maybe.

Will, given that they already did that with ME3, I'd say yes.

Oh, or was this another of these threads, with the invisible
"Since obviously, we all agreed on how each BioWare employee spends years working on a creative project, with the goal to make everyone except complete morons unhappy, and not like the result of the countless hours of passed lifetime at all, ..."
in front of the headline?

I'm assuming this is with the Mass Effect series? Like with movies, it's who is directing, producing... oh wait.... no.
