I have all the Mass Effect books, comics, DLC, appearance packs, hoodies, ballcaps, and just about everything else with an N7 logo on it. I've played through the games countless times and found all of the secrets and easter eggs and dialog options. As the creator of artwork like this, that is your objective, right? To completely pull the user into your universe and suspend their disbelief? Well they certainly had me. To say I've been a "fan" of this story and universe is quite an understatement.
However, that all changed in the last 30 minutes of ME3. Priority Earth - the amazing final mission to the epic series - just feels so sterile and souless. The Starchild's existence on the citadel breaks all lore of the previous games.
We've had a year to fix this. A third of the time it took you to create the game in total and we still have this abomination of storytelling on the end of your flagship series. It deserves so much better than this. I'm gonna go get drunk now.
Drink one for me.

The fact you said "They should try to satisfy more than 5% of the audience" isn't even based on statistics. An I'm pretty sure there are tens of thousands of people who love the ending compared to people who hate it. I'd say the numbers are just about even.Hexley UK wrote...

I actually started a thread for ending lovers. It had around 11 pages. I'd consider that more than 5%. Don't forget the people who like the ending, but don't even bother to go on BSN forumsHexley UK
Might be a good idea to satisfy more than 5% of your audience though.
Dude there are hundreds of pages and tens of thousands of posts hating on the ending....don't kid yourself.
Of course you know this just as you know nobody asked for the "disney" ending you keep ranting about.
Good to know that you have a numbers... at least someone if not BioWare...
BTW: What´s your point ? You are saying that what´s saying Hekxley is irrelevant because of ... reasons... but you´re building your deffense on a same if not bigger pile of unstable radioactive waste.
P.S: Playing majority, minority game is as much as bad claming that artistic integrity can do whatever its please...

I´d believe her if she gave both numbers AND sample from where said numbers came. After all, they dismiss forum polls as not representative, so I want to know how they do it. Last time I checked, achievements didn´t include what people thought of the ending.

Every 10 post there are 7 hate ending posts from 7 different persons, the other 3 are 1 or 2 persons repeating "get over it" or "that is the door"
BW can build a story, and i use the present out of respect for ME1 and DA:O and because i still hope for DA3, but they don't know how to go along with their own stories

How was the writing for that one? I'll probably pick it up someday, but I haven't been in any hurry to get it (since they didn't bring the squad back, I don't want to buy it while it would still count toward the "success" of the DLC, which I think is usually a near-term determination).Reptilian Rob wrote...

Better dialogue than Arrival (or Earth or Mars... you get what I'm asking), I hope? Is the plot really that lame?

They DID end the story properly. The only reason it was incomplete prior to EC was because it lacked a resolution. We practically had to beg them for Extended Cut, but still...it has everything a story needs now.
It has exposition, the rising action with some turning points thrown in there, the climax, the falling action, and the resolution.
Learned this story structure BS in 6th grade, yo.
No, they didn't. They *botched* the resolution. Completely. The game *should* have ended with the Shepard/Anderson scene. Instead, they went right back into rising action, hacked in the resolution, and then cut said resolution short.
There is NO doubt that they screwed up the ending. The whole reason they came up with the Extended Cut (aka everything that should have been in there in the first place and wasn't) was because they were forced to recognize their failure. If this were a graded project, the revision would have turned their F into a C-.

I've never heard of a game company making such data public, and I doubt Bio 's going to start.
I'm not sure the data would be very revealing anyway. Whatever the numbers are, they showed that the ending wasn't worth changing. Unless we've all suddenly concluded that EA isn't a pack of evil money-grabbers after all.

Nope, but I sure as hell won't be gambling with my wallet any further. Got burned with DA2, THEN Swtor, THEN this whole fiasco with ME3. All this bullsht has left me drained and jaded not only with these people, but this whole fcking corporate takeover of gaming in general. Activision, THQ going under, Square and their bullsht with FF, and EAware- I've really lost all patience with. But I'm ranting; so to answer the OP, nope. I genuinely hope they do, but I don't trust them to at all.Uncle Jo wrote...

ME2 and DA2 were the dead giveaways to a future of lies and shortcuts.
If I had started up Bioware I would be ashamed to have left the brand in the hands of EA.
