Obviously my solution only works for male Shepard. Bioware would have to come up with something for Femshep.Rudy Lis wrote...

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Should we've been able to join Cerberus, they'd revive anyone (just 2 millions, one Kodiak) and no probems with sequels.
No need to tell me about Dune and Duncan Idaho.

No, sorry, I don't believe those meteorologists. Plus, crystal ball doesn't have to be plugged into power network and internet.

Just the ending?
ME3 was horrible written, from start to finish, with a one exception. So no, i don't trust them.
High five, buddy!
I've been saying that for months. Nobody's listening, though.

Just canonize Shepard as male and forget that a female Shepard ever existed. Most of the fans are mad at bioware for what they did to ME3 anyway. What's the worst that could happen?
For the record: I'm joking here. Can't be too careful. There might be hardcore femshep fans around.

Frozen Eggs? lol
As for the OP. No I don't really trust Bioware with endings period to be honest. So far I am not a fan of Bioware endings at all.
There was no really good ending in DA:O without doing creepy stuff to make it happen.
Mass Effect well.. we all know how that went.
I have not played DA:2 but from what I have read or heard the ending in it was not great either, they expanded on it with an expansion?
The only game I have played so far that actually seemed to have a fairly nice, normal happy ending after everything we went through in the actual game was KOTOR.
What is with the creepy endings Bioware? Do you guys not like giving people the option for a nice 'normal' victory and ending?
It seems to me that endings where the hero ends up dying are becoming the norm now, the cliche and happy endings are a rarity?

More
Adult topic is adult - instead of raising really adult issues they are worried about realistic sex in games.

Man i feel ya, im the same mindset that it seems you cant have a good thing in Gaming as the more popular a title becomes the devs seems to target a different audience from those that made it popular... Havent touched a FF game since 10( still haunted by the laughter scene).. I feel bioware are like square-enix now, After DA2/TOR/ME3 they are on the decline and my SP RPG fix isnt to there target audience. Great memories but man there games are mediocre nowadays....Dragons dogma was surprisingly good and with new consoles im truly hoping new IP's and new RPG's are enticing to play as FF and ME used to be.Konfined wrote...
Nope, but I sure as hell won't be gambling with my wallet any further. Got burned with DA2, THEN Swtor, THEN this whole fiasco with ME3. All this bullsht has left me drained and jaded not only with these people, but this whole fcking corporate takeover of gaming in general. Activision, THQ going under, Square and their bullsht with FF, and EAware- I've really lost all patience with. But I'm ranting; so to answer the OP, nope. I genuinely hope they do, but I don't trust them to at all.Uncle Jo wrote...

Not really. At the end you can side with one of two groups but no matter who you side with, you still fight both group 'leaders'. The final battle is exactly the same no matter what you do and your character simply walks off without saying a word after the battle and that's it. At least you still get a tiny bit of closure when the narrator tells you a bit of what happened afterwards but that's it.
After that they pull the old Revan plot (main character disappears without a trace) and that's it. An expansion called The Exalted Marches was planned for DA2 as well but it was cancelled. Likely due to disappointing game/dlc sales.

They follow new trend - "bitter-sweet". I'd go for beef and salmon any day, but they're not going to listen.
They think if they kill protaginist it'll make story more dramatic, more grown up, and make us feel for characters deeper and we all be praising (raisins? what raisins?!) them for their geniousness.
Their narrative stuck somewhere even below BG - at least there we had tonns of texts, now we barely have enough for few SMS.

D. Gaider claims they were good. Not sure how trustworthy he is though. Maybe good still fell short of good enough. End result is that we can add incomplete to DA2 flaw list.

And yet it was still a better ending and had more closure than ME3 (at least for living Shepards)

ME3s endings followed, and wasn't impressed.
I'm not sure Bioware still have a handle on what made ME great anymore but I'd be pleasantly surprised if they are able to pull it off in the future.

Also the dlc could be played post ending which kinda proves you live and can enjoy the dlc with your squadmates.iakus wrote...

I really hate bittersweet. There is a reason why I dont watch movies where the hero dies in the end more the once. With the exception of Armageddon. There is enough bs in RL without having to put up with it in entertainment as well! Besides there was enough bittersweet moments without making our hero one of them.

I don't hate bittersweet per se, nor I hate protagonist (or character you like) death per se. What I don't like - is flawed and faulty narrative (especially one encompanied by authors' arrogance, telling us we don't know sh*t in art).
I can remember few other media (books, games, movies) where protagonist (or character you liked) is killed or died, but it felt Ok. Because there it was understandable, it didn't felt wrong and repulsive. Yes, you (well, I) felt sorry for character, I'd prefer to see him alive (without those stupid hints like half-arsed breath) but reasons behind his demise were clear, there was no unnecessary
Since we all played ME3, Thane's death is closest one to that description. it's not perfectly written, but this is lest worst moment in game, when it comes to "bittersweet". At least he died fighting, not listening to some blue boy nonsense.
Eliza Cassan made more sense.
