EDIT: Tested with Origin offline and the internet connection active and the SP works too.

I played offline several times in PC. Set origin to offline AND disconnect the internet connection (unplug the cable or disable the network adapter).
Just tested 1 minute ago and it works perfectly.

They said that they have a plan for when the servers aren't being used anymore. My guess is a patch permanently placing the readiness at 100%.

You guys have scared me. I love the ME3 game and I understand the likelihood that one day in the future Multiplayer will simply not be supported. However, I do not understand about the DLC for single player. Is there something I can do to protect against its loss? Is that what the PS Plus does? Sorry So Noob!
