I'd like to see a hunter, or some class that uses an animal assistant for battle. (that excludes the obligatory "Dog")
Honestly, adding specializations will require more work for them and I don't think we'll see anything dramatically different as far as classes go.

At some point they really have to address the whole templar-lyrium thing. It's an unfortunate lore/mechanic clash.Robhuzz wrote...
Maybe an expansion of the templar spec? Now that the templars have defected from the chantry it's likely their techniques are much more widespread. Personally I'd love to see a few extra abilities added to make warriors better against mages. I always found them lacking in that department so far, even with the templar specialisation.
Well, Alistair learned templar talents and never received lyrium, indicating that you can, in fact, learn templar talents without lyrium. He also outright says so. He also doubts lyrium makes templar talents more effective as he's lead to believe by the chantry. And we know the chantry uses lyrium addiction to keep their templars on a leash. To me, it does seem like an awful lot of trouble, keeping templars addicted to (to them) useless lyrium, which is also incredibly expensive and can be better used for enchanting, but I wouldn't put it past them either.
Although I don't foresee Bioware wandering from the holy trinity of Mage/Warrior/Rogue, I'll bite.

Could be interesting. But we have the ranger class for rogues that can summon animals. What would you want to see differently for the hunter class?

But we didn't get a Ranger specialization in DA2.

More seriously, I would like to see some kind of melee mage specialisation return. Perhaps a little less 'unkillable tanking machine' this time, but still.

As an admittedly simple example, an arcane specialization for a warrior could grant bonuses to attack, damage, defense, and/or armor, or an ability that grants a certain chance to knock down opponents with normal attacks instead of having to use according talents. And rogues could gain bonuses to skills like picking locks, disarming traps, etc., alter stealth to be more effective and/or grant additional bonuses (e.g. a chance to avoid damage from AoE spells/talents, or a chance to remain stealthed even when taking damage), etc.

Barbarian - Super DPS warrior; high health, high damage, low defense. As you level up, you gain / improve a passive that terrifies your enemies.

Quick question: would a rogue alchemist make sense for people? We know assassins and bards make poisons and such, so does this mean with enough training they can make grenades that can perform summons or other magical effects?
