I don't get pro-controllers. In high-EMS destroy; Shepard lives, the reapers are destroyed, and everything is rebuilt. In control Shepard dies, the Reapers live and everything is fixed. I don't see the logic... wouldn't you rather Shepard lived and the Reapers were gone? Because that's what it boils down to in the end.

Lol wow..

No for me it doesn't boil down to that in the end. For you maybe, but not for me. I'd rather sacrifice myself than sacrifice the hard-earned peace and my allies. kthxbai

The Catalyst can clearly target whatever it wants with it's space magic. "If you pick Destroy, I'll kill EDI and the geth! I mean it!"
...

I don't think the Catalyst has a whole lot of control over what the Crucible does. It is a WMD built to destroy Synthetics, and this cycle unwittingly or not, built it.

Somewhat undone by the ability to convert a person into an AI and the ability to change every single form of life in existence. The Catalyst might not have control over what the Crucible does but it doesn't seem like the Crucible has any form of restraint on it.

I imagine it's more likely that it's a Synthesis machine, and the ability to Destroy is a byproduct.

I chose Destroy because that was the entire point of the entire farking trilogy... and I wanted the Reapers destroyed. Also, Destroy is the only ending where Shepard survives, and I want my Shep to carry on living his life. Also, I loved the ending after the EC/Leviathan.

There, I just shot your little theory to sht.

Once again, if any choice represents the ending haters at all, it's refuse.

Well... IMHO

There is no need for reapings/cycles what so ever. Organics are everywhere so synthetics could never have wiped them out, or it happens so rarely and is a one time event that leaves organics plenty of time to redevelop.

That doesn't do wonders for the catalysts credibility.

So I either let the fleets of massive killing machines live or destroy them.

A: I bet that the catalyst is truthfull, that I'm (shepard) is incorruptable throughout eternity and let the giant killing cuttlefish live. If I'm mistaken the mass murders begin again within a short time.

B: I bet that the catalyst is truthfull. I make everyone and everything into... well basically what the Reapers wanted to turn us into. If I'm mistaken the mass murders begin again within a short time. Note: In this green solution the Reapers will still have to continue the cycles.

C: I destroy the Reapers and all I had to sacrifice to win was the 4th mechanized division aka. the geth. Who, mind you, volunteered to come along and fight! If I'm mistaken huge fleets of giant killing cuttlefish will have to be rebuilt to start the killings again.

D: I let the Reapers turn us into Reapers. Not that different from B/Green.

See my stance is, on a purely thematic basis I like the endings. However, they do not belong in the Mass Effect universe. I view Mass Effect in the same light I view Battlestar Galactica 2008. From the Arrival DLC onwards, the series started making less sense, created more plot holes and generally went off the rails from the original foreshadowed plots and just did its own thing which wrapped itself up, but left the original strings just tugged at or untouched completely. While the plot of 3 is... I hesistate to say 'good', so I'll just settle with 'sound', however, it fits a universe more fantasy-aligned, closer to that of Dragon Age.

However as I said before. I have headcanons for all endings, including elements such as alignments, various EMS levels and even the IT theories.

I still go with destroy. I don't like it... but I accept that. Reapers are wiped out. My mission is complete. May the galaxy forgive me. I'll do what I can to bring back the Geth and EDI if someone just helps me up out of this rubble.

Anyone? ... Hellooo?

I picked Destroy in my every playthrough. Paragon, Renegade, FemShep, MeerShep, Infiltrator, Adept, Soldier...

Destroy each and every single time. No last-second change of hearts for me. No blind acceptance of StarBrat's bull. No being tricked into looking at a hypothetical "bigger picture". Just getting the job done.

I LOVE the game. I LOVE the endings. I've bought all the DLC, and have barely stopped playing since release.

Just throwing it out there.

Here's the reason why I've picked ''DESTROY'': don't trust the Reapers nor the Geth!!

I made a mistake... focused on big picture. Big picture made of little pictures. Too many variables.

Good man.

Yeah i choose destroy but i still utterly hate the trainwreck of an ending centred round the bratalyst.
