I don't mind if priests dress like that. But if the common folk or even the nobility dress like that (and my beef is more the black / hood combo than the black)? Well it's meh. Might as well point an arrow saying they are bad, which had been how they were consistently portrayed in both DA:O and DA2.

If the rumors are to be believed, we'll have a non-**** Tevinter Magister as a companion -- and Fenris does note that the Imperium has good senators that are just low in the Senate.

It does seem to be sort of.... priestly, I guess, in terms of the female's clothing. More specifically that giant orb that's nestled on her head. And considering Maevaris Tilani and whatshisname that Alistair's hunting and all the other Tevinters that we saw in the comics, well... maybe it is priestly.

Rapiers, wooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I want to be a musketeer in Dragon Age 3.

... Minus the actual musket, I guess.

Well Black is the colour if you want to hide blood stains.
So it actually fit the lore that they would want to wear black ....
I agree it looks a bit too much like they're going to a Marilyn Manson show but ...come on it's still way better than anything we saw in DA/DA2 ...

I mean the nobility in both games were all wearing generic clothes.

Well after everything we've heard and learned about the Orlesians, it woud be odd if they didn't have something goofy about them :P

Now we just need some radical hairstyles and some Isolde-like comments to go with it.

Finally one thing in origins that bugged me is everyone wore the same fashion the same armour! and that was the case in Dragon age 2 aswell , the tevinter magisters for example just felt like puny circle mages they're attire did not relfect their culture , which is dark , forbiding and cruel in nature and i think that it is important to relfect that in the appearance of the said people's attire.
As you can see Bioware is defiantly heading in the right direction this is so awesome. The human ethnic groups look unique now and they relfect their cultures well. The orlesians are Prideful and highly fashionably and arrogant. The fereldans wear a mix of hardy well crafted armour and clothing relfecting they're hardy and warrior nature. And the Tevinters look really mysterious, Dark and dangerous!, i hope bioware keeps up this trend with the other ethnic groups! and actually brings this sort of relfective attire to the game!.

@KnightofPheonix: Some of us always saw them that way - while others were under the delusion that the Tevinter Imperium was "complex and misunderstood and just oh so enlightened if you were open minded enough to believe!"

Isn't the Tevinter Imperium suppose to be loosely modeled after the eastern Roman empire?

These seem to be the clothing of the wealthy of various nations.. not the loser merc. swine adventurers tend to be.

Yes because the Eastern Roman empire was so simplistically "evil." Definitely not a complex system, society and culture like all polities in history, no.

I absolutely adore all of them, especially considering that they seem to be noble clothes. I'm sure that they dress something more practical when they go to battle, so hush.

Fixed that for ya. I generally don't condone violence against women, or domestic violence, under any context but good god if any character made me genuinely want to pull out murder knife, it was her.

I like it. Hopefully it will translate nicely into the game. I've got to admit that I'm more excited about seeing a rapier in the picture.

I dunno, the Tevinter outfits don't seem "Evil Blood Mage-y" enough.
