What classes would you all recommend for either a Sword/Board Warrior or a dual wielding baddie? I'm thinking Champion is nice due to the War Cry if you get overwhelmed but I'm kinda iffy on the other three choices. Any suggestions?

Weeelll, I'll give my run-down on the classes.
Templar - Recommended for DW, not so much for sword/board. Righteous Strike trivializes mage fights, although Holy Smite is basically useless. I don't remember the boost Mental Fortress gives, but I found it worth it. Cleanse Area is a good way to take care of some nasty spells (hexes, Curse of Mortality, etc.)
Berserker - Recommended for DW, possible to use with sword/board, never tried it before. The only thing this really has is Berserk. A flat +8 attack is pretty nice, and Final Blow? Even though it drains all your stamina, it's well worth it. Much better on a 2hander, though.
Reaver - Not recommended for DW, recommended for sword/board tank. The only thing this class has going for it is Frightening Appearance. Useful to let a tank hold threat.
Champion - Pretty good for both, excellent for sword/board tank. You're basically going to go and have a ton of enemies surround you. That AoE KD becomes really nice here. Rally isn't really that great, IMO.
So for a DW war, I'd recommend either Berserker/Templar, or Berserker/Champion.
While for a Sword/board war, I'd recommend Champion/Reaver. Go Champion/Templar if you aren't going to tank. Berserker/Templar is also a possibility.

Is two handers any good? I never really liked using Oghren/Sten myself because I wasn't a fan of it. I figure since I usually get around level 21-23, it should be enough to max out on line and start decently on another path. Was thinking maybe going mostly DW with sword/board as a backup.

2-handers is fun, but they develop late, and are something of an acquired taste. Some love em, some don't.

Are they worth it? I ask cause I'm more used to playing a DW rogue and I seem to be out damaging Sten or Oghren on a regular basis.

I disagree that templar is bad for a tank. Templars can wear some great anti-mage armor, and the built-in resists and cleanse is very helpful for a well-rounded tank. A lot of the more dangerous attacks in the game are magical.

Well, I've got characters who use each weapon style. They are worth it for the variety alone - as long as you know how to make best use of them. Their dps isn't the highest, but it's damn good, certainly better than a tank's. They can be fun to play. Why not?
Edit: And I like templar on a tank too. Champion/Templar, to be precise.

Definitely strength. I like to put some into willpower (enough to get me 18/20 will unbuffed with the bonuses from the Fade). Cunning depends - men not, women who are romancing Alistair, yes (for end game persuade checks, but only up to 20 including bonuses). Ignore the rest.
Heavy armour, not massive (leave that for your tank). Preferably some with minus fatigue stats. Two-handed Starfang until you can get Chasind Great Maul (if you can afford it).
Other equipment (rings, belt, etc) that boosts strength in particular. Extra health and stamina are nice here too. Aim for high spell resistance.
Indomitable is a must. Berseker will combine nicely with any of the others, depends on your playstyle, what you find hardest to cope with, and what else your team has.

I'm playing a 2handed warrior at the moment, putting everything into strength. It's much more fun than I though it would be. With the right equipment and the Deathblow talent I NEVER run out of stamina. Takes some time to gather the equipment but infinite stamina is well worth it.
Check my post here for details. Maybe even read the whole topic for various tips on 2handed warriors.
A backstabbing rogue will out-dps any warrior, but sending half a dozen darkspawn flying and doing about 80-100 damage to each of them with two-handed sweep is at least as much fun as high DPS

2H Warrior are great. They just develop kinda slow. But starting around level 10 they are getting into their own if you pick the right Talents and have Stamina boosting equipment.
A 2h Templar/Champion with 100% Magic Resistance and Indomitable is like a mountain - immovable. Never stopped by anything, never slown down by anything, just dealing death (well with the exception of dragon grabs and such). It's great! Also can do a fair bit of Crowd Control with Swep and Superiority WarCry.
