There was a time when people saw pics of "Krogan Vanguard" and "Asari Justicar" and called them fake. Then suddenly the Resurgence DLC came out, and it looked exactly like the leaks. There were even people calling the Piranha shotgun fake when images of it leaked since it looked like someone smashed together a Saber with an Eviscerator.  

From the history of leaks of the ME3 DLC's, most leaked images are rather credible. Even without said prior history though, the content of these banners themselves using new art assets suggest that there's a good chance they're legitimate.

Yea, because "Girl Plays Game" is a totally reputible source...lol. You guys believe everything and anything.

Determining a fake isn't as simple as that. It's not "Reputable source: real / Disreputable source: fake." Reddit isn't a reputable source, either, but there have been leaks through there that have been spot on. And official news sources have got things completely wrong more often than any of them would like to admit. Someone recently leaked a series of mocked-up console specifications to see how many sites would take the bait without a second source. Depressingly, this was quite a high number.

The name's blurred, the commenter is anonymous, the image host is generic - this isn't someone leaking for attention, or glory, this is someone who is putting those images out there but doesn't want to be caught. This is either because they're looking for a reaction, or because they can't keep a secret but know they'd get in trouble. A popular blog that allows anonymous comments, in that case, is as good a place as anywhere. They're certain to get around.

The other thing is, the assets. How was this made? You can see they've got transparency underneath the N7 banners - hardly impossible to reproduce, but if the pictures are faked, it's a fine level of attention to detail. They've gone to great lengths to make it look as plausible as possible. The scores are switching back and forth, one of the banners includes a the scoreboard switching. It's possible a very good fraud would doctor it to look like that was happening, but why would they make extra trouble for themselves? They also contain a lot of assets that only an insider would have access to. Who's going to make a Krogan Sentinel image from scratch just for the sake of a bit of puckish mud-stirring? More likely that it is a genuine screenshot.

I wouldn't say I'm 100% sure it's real, but if it's a fake, it's a very dedicated fraudster that's going to receive no recognition whatsoever. It fits with what we know, too - why else would they hide the identity of the adept and only unless it's the biggest surprise of the lot? Certainly more likely to be real than false. I'd say I'm 75:25, maybe 80:20 at a push?

They fit with the rest of the images that have been posted for all the other character kits.

Its just a shame that one of them is of a Collector...

You could say exactly the same thing about all the other "leaks" that have been coming out over the months of ME3 being out. Ever since the very first screenshot showing the character cards for the Batarians and Geth.

I'm just saying that this looks EXTREMELY legit for someone to just do for poops and giggles, they would have to get all the models (or something similar as they have not been released yet), pose them in a modelling software, analyse and replicate how the artists at BioWare present their character renders on these "fake" ones which requires a lot of time and Photoshop know-how. (Trust me)

THAT... is a lot of effort for some loser to go "LOLOL I TROL UUU".

hate to break it to you but no effort is involved in making these.  Anyone with the slightest knowledge of photoshop can make a crap banner in minutes.  Then someone posts them here and the community blows a load in their pants...so yes, he can troll you.

Find the original sources of the images and you can find some info on if they're legit or not, by finding the images that were put together etc etc.
If you don't find the original though... hahahaha... HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!

and why no geth specific or quarian specific title, heck why no batarian, vorcha or human specific titles. which brings my next point. why the salarian title if theres only 2 salarians (assuming they dont pull a fast one with this dlc) but none for humans when they have at least 20 characters.

fem turian looks like whatsherface from Omega with a new paintjob

I'm not gonna make the effort to find said threads within the THOUSANDS of threads here. Not like there are threads anyway, but more like posts within threads like what we have now. But this particular image was what was in dispute:



I lurked in the discussions that were held when people were trying to decipher the credibility of these, just like what we're doing now. And like now, people were going on about "fake" with the images.

We know what the characters look -like- and it's not like Bioware is above reusing character assets as already pointed out (ex. Paladin being a recolored Terminus Armor), but if you can convince me that the actual images for these could be taken from public sources for use in photoshopping, then let me know where.

Yes they can...people can do anything with adobe programs.  If I want to make a krogan holding a hammer I can.  The turian could be a damn screen shot if the chick from omega DLC and color edited.

 two things bug me about the punisher picture one the talon merc has flesh showing, no other multiplayer human model show flesh, and there was a brand new armour created for the talon merc humans in the omega dlc.

second the new juggernaut does not have the two things sticking out of its back but the normal geth prime does. calling BS. on this one

How about this one...? This popped up online and people started thinking it was fake because of the Volus and they BW would NEVER implement them into the game.

I'm only okay with the Thrall because it means there will be Salarians (seeing as the banners are from the same source; assuming they are legit)
If the Thrall had replaced the inclusion of any Salarians I would just...!

THE  IMAGE may have been. 

The image is obviously real. But, it has all 6 characters together....which is a unreal. THUS...the IMAGE IS A FAKE or a mockup

when news game out they were to be included...there was no real uproar against their inclusion.
