Sorry, couldn't resist. It depends on what DLC you have available, and mods and whether you use them. For vanilla?
Felon's Coat, Red Jenny Seekers, The Rose's Thorn, Thorn of the Dead Gods, Helm of Honnleath, Silverhammer's Tackmasters, Andruil's Blessing, Key to the City, Dusk Ring.
But it will also depend in part on your build, so it will depend on what you're dual wielding and whether you're going cunning or dex as your major attribute. With DLC and/or mods I would change some of the above.
Edit: sorry, Helm of Honnleath is DLC, my bad. Not that then if you're vanilla only.

Warden's keep for the armor and the merchant for the belt in the Mages tower.

I hope you meant 'rogues' not 'rouges' but still.

Edit: This setup is for maximum dps with a cunning build. I'm not saying it's the only way to go, indeed I craft my own armor and weapons instead, but it's the best damage unmodded.

beat the game once without knowing that

Edit: I don't craft everything, just some things. Especially useful early on when you can't get to the good stuff yet. But you still have to be able to equip it. And put points in to crafting, and buy mats, and so on.

As for the gear most have tald you the best gear, I don't like helmets for asthetic reasons, and I think the shadow wardens armor is a the best armor for rogue, but that's a mod download.

As soteria pointed out, Honnleath is where you acquire Shale. It is not her personal quest. The Stone's Lament takes place in Orzammar, but I won't include spoilers unless you ask, because I'm not sure how much you'd like to know, and what you wouldn't like to have spoiled.

Felon's Coat is much better for a Rogue then Warden Commander Armour - and has a much lower Str requirement.
Starfand is a sword, therefore is inferior to daggers for a Rogue. Rose's Thorn is a must.
Makes no sense to use 5 different damage runes across both hands. When you backstab (and you always should as a Rogue) only the mainhand damage/status runes are processed. Instead Use Hale or Dweomer runes for offhand.

What am I doing wrong? How do you afford all of that gear?
Get a mage up to lvl 4 herbalist; go to the wonders of thedas in denerim and spend 10 or 11 gold on the "potent lyrium" recipe and go back and forth between the pub in denerim and the merchant in the circle tower buying supplies for potent lyrium bottles and make as many as you can and sell them at a profit. Spend a couple of hours dealing with this tedium and never have to worry about cash in the game ever again.

saving your money and selling things you dont need does the trick.
also, when you get the options thats asking for more rewards, get it. youll need high persuation for this.
i never abused the potion trick and i still have 50-70 golds at the end of the game.

Now I play with a Noble Dwarf Warrior and I expect to have much more by the end of the game due to Gorim's much better selling prices.
