And no, I think BioWare is in fact a bit silly seing how the Batarians who are anigligible power at best are represented doubled as much compared to one of the most advanced official council powers.

It wasn't even a day 1 request. At best it was requested after the first DLC, but nobody was really requesting more of the vanilla species for the very first DLC(except male Quarians).

Lore has very little to do with the number of each species we've gotten. That entire argument is just silly =P

I know I wanted more Salarians from day one and PMed BioWare about it. I said I would even pay if it were some charged MP Character DLC pack.

As for lore, lore has had little to do with Mass Effect ever since ME2, so yeah, but it still is silly that a major power on military and political terms is left hanging on the thread and everything else happily being thrown at the fans.

Really, more Salarian kits is, or rather was, a no brainer. We got Volus that got the whole community in hick-ups, we now get Collector Thralls which is again getting the entire community in hick-ups.

There is literally NO reason at all as to why BioWare would ignore a playsafe option like this, one that has been asked for no less.

That is silly.

The main thing I find really sad about it is the inclusion of the Talon Merc. I've nothing against the character. I will play and enjoy him. But we have so many human characters as is... they could have taken the idea for the Talon and put it on a Salarian. I don't imagine that would have been difficult. Each of the other kits is arguably something requested by players, and while we have asked for mercenaries, I don't think there was a call for anything like the Talon (or another human) specifically. That's the biggest slap in the face for people who wanted at least one more Salarian.

The new characters are awesome and I'll have fun, especially since my dream came true for the Collectors, but I really feel for the Salarian situation.

Thats exactly what I thought!

Makes no sense!  Salarians are members of the Talons!

At least I can look forward for the GethJugg and the awesome weapons!

its going to be fun!

This is really disappointing. Idk, considering all the retaliation kits it seems now like they didn't even give the Salarians a second thought. You could easily switch out one or two powers on a lot of the retaliation kits and made them salarian, I'm pretty sure everyone agrees we didn't need four volus kits. The fact that they didn't even take the time to include a "retaliation quality" (recycled skin/powers) salarian kit in the final DLC is rather insulting all things considered.

There's a difference between hating something and it not being high on the priority list.

But I guess that's hard to understand from the perspective of a teenager.

Suffice it to say I am way beyond my teens and not being high on the priority list is not the same as not seriously considered throughout a year of requests for it.

Also, learn to understand the concept of hyperbole. It's meant to be an eyecatcher, which it did just fine. I am sure you understand how to search google for it, aye?

didnt eric say there's 7 new characters in the stream? we only saw 5 including the collector adept so that leaves two more characters they didnt show which one could be a salarian.

We saw all 6 of them, and that's their final number I think.

They confirmed we would not get any new salarian anyway.

Yes. That's why i don't buy the "we didn't have time" excuse.

At least an actual explanation would be nice.

How much money would I need to hire some of the devs for a quick "Add New Salarian Kit for MP" project?

Theres lots of thingsa thta people would class as a no brainer - more maps in my case.

But they cant give everyone everything. Infact were lucky to have got as much DLC as we have out of it.

No matter how much we may complain about what we want, there wont be anymore updates in that regard. I know alot of people wont believe that but ME3 is winding down and theyre concerntrating on the next game.

I would have liked more Salarian characters too but its not gunna happen. So why not accept that and just enjoy what they are bringing out :)

I'm sure there are plenty of kits that could have been in the game, but just didn't make the cut for dlc.  Heck we could of had Elcor or Protheans or Hanar or other characters or other variants of species we already unlocked.  Instead of being upset about no new salarian kits, I'm just really excited for whats to come.

The Talon Merc could have easily of been made to be a Salarian... In fact it would have made more sense with the kit being very heavily tech based with a ranged crossbow and traps.

But I too agree that the "No time" excuse is a blatant lie. I think they just wanted to keep it to one kit for each class.

let's face it. Salarian are not officially fighting the Reapers and it was very few, regardless of your choice in ME3 SP.

I know we aren't getting any more. That is exactly why I am complaining, because I can not sit back and tell myself "next DLC we'll get it, next DLC we'll get it".
And the fact that nothing's going to change that fact and I have to accept it is no reason not to complain about it either. It's a rather significant letdown for everyone that wanted more Salarians, so there's all the right to complain.

Or do you purchase a meal right before kitchen closing, get the wrong stuff and then don't complain at all about the faulty delivery just because you ain't going to get the right thing because shop's closed?

I am voicing my opinion, not threatening to level Edmonton/Montreal/Austin should they not release what I want.

If 1 person makes it a day 1 fan request, then pretty much everything is a day 1 fan request so that is a poor argument(and if you're going to say that probably more people than just you wanted Salarians, I'll say the same of everything else).

The major military thing is also a poor argument since using it means that you also need to think that the Turians should make up the bulk of our characters, due to them being the strongest military force by far in the galaxy. Either that or you only feel that the argument should apply to Salarians =P

and this is why I said their excuse doesn't actually matter. You don't think there is a reason for them not being added, and yet they didn't get added.

As I said before, this is just a side effect of adding things that people ask for. They can't possibly do every single thing that was asked for, and when you can't then people get upset, because why should theirs not be added while somebody else's was?

There's not really an answer to that question that'll make people happy.

That's because there's only two of them and one of them is a lackluster class (engineer) due to the decoy nerf.

So that's the reason why a lot of BSNers don't care about the Salarians which I guess I understand.

The people who are bummed are fans of the species.

Hate to break it to you, but there is no explanation. Here's some of the possible reasons they could have forgotten them:

1) "We didn't have time" (Clearly wrong, as they've had just under a year and produced over 30 new classes, yet not a single one)
2) "People didn't ask" (again, I've seen requests for Salarian STG soldiers/engineers/infiltrators for months now, before Retaliation was out)
3) "The designer of the Salarians left and we didn't want to ruin them" (has their designer left?)
4) "Salarians didn't play a major role to many players, explaining their abscence" (if that's the case, I'm sure many people forgot to save the Hanar/drell homeworlds, and about 50% of people will have either seen the Geth or Quarians go, but that hasn't stopped them recieving 4 characters minimum each)
5) "people don't like Salarians" (A lot of people don't like Batarians or Volus, didn't stop them adding four of them)

There's literally no viable explanation which doesn't use complete horseradish as a reason. They simply forgot or couldn't be bothered. Can't think of anything else that would float.

I think the thread title is strongly worded nonsense, but I agree that we should have had more Salarian kits, we're talking a council founding race, not one of the johnny-come-latelys.

A shame we won't see it, and that there is no new content after this for MP, so there is no chance to fix the 2 trick pony Salarian presence.

I'd like to see the stats of people who actually chose to have the genophage cured. If it's really high enough, it makes sense for the Salarians with the exception of the STG not to be present to help the Alliance.

Early on in the story, lorewise, there is cover for that, but the Salarians do come to their senses after you save their coucilor.
