Shame about hazard maps though! I'm guessing they didn't prove to be very popular among among matches? Stats would probably show how frequently hazard variations were played, and I figure people had a tendency to stick with vanilla, hence the focus on other content.
Oh well. I would have really loved to see the current map roster completed with hazard variations. Tidal wave on Hydra, Harbinger laser cannon cutting through London, earthquake shaking the tower on Vancouver, and so on. Everybody would love more maps, but I thought hazards were a nice stopgap: not as much work required as making a completely new map, but a cool twist on existing maps to keep the battles fresh and interesting.
I can only hope BioWare is taking lessons learned from hazard variations for more dynamic maps in Mass Effect 4's innevitable multiplayer!
