Really.
Kaidan's death was hilarious. Saren shooting himself in the face was awesome. I hope in ME2 I get similar situations!

I got all 3 games about a week ago. Played them like crazy, got all the DLC.
Man was I sad when I found out that there won't be more DLC, neither will there be ME4 - just a game playing in the same franchise on a different setting.
I am so happy I managed to dodge all spoilers for around 6 years - the triology was such a moving experience for me.
But it is so weird when you move into something that was so big after the hype and mostly everybody left, all the controversies about stuff going on died off, going around the internet and looking for ME fans, communities and stuff in general it seels like you are in a ghost town - a great and mysterious one, and you always ask yourself "wow - how that must have been back then."

They play almost the same, the controls are just tighter and everything is generally improved from a gameplay standpoint. Story wise, Mass Effect was never truly incredible by any stretch but it's a solid series and it stays consistently good through the sequels.

I seriously do not understand why people consider ME2 and ME3 to be different from ME1, gameplay wise. In all three games you level up exactly the same way, the only thing that you lose between ME1 and the rest is the awful inventory management. What you gain is customization for armor and weapons, and an ammunition system instead of a heat system, which in my opinion is far more meaningful in terms of RP than having an inventory. Gameplay wise that is literally the only change. ME3 even does reputation better, adding your paragon and renegade points to a common pool rather than you having to strictly adhere to one or the other to get some of the later alignment based dialog options.

I'm playing ME3 now, and really enjoying it. The simple stuff that's been added like the tuck and roll increases combat speed and changed the way I typically approached combat. Now I run around like a chicken with its head cut-off pistol whipping everything to death. I like!
And I have to agree x1000000 that ME1's inventory system was appalling, and the new reputation system allows for character depth.
