That would be great, if wasn't an AMD exclusive technology only available to people with some of the higher end 7000 series Radeons.
I don't really think Bioware is going to bother creating a special set of hair just for the few people with high end AMD cards that will buy the game.

Both Playstation 4 and Xbox 720 are using AMD graphic cards.

You are now picturing Varic's chest hair oiled up and dancing in the wind.

AMD graphic cards.
Seems legit.
This is all wishful thinking, anyway, since Bioware is pretty much going to continue with its modern tradition of making low-quality games: reusing animations, cloning dungeons, cutting corners, then slapping together a crappy port without gamepad support (literally 15 minutes of coding) just to tick the box next to "PC".
Bioware has gone full console. They couldn't care less about the hands-down superior PC platform that will give their graphical designers maximum creative freedom.

And neither of them will be using a GPU that is even remotely close to a 7000 series in terms of power. I doubt either console will be able to make use of this without seriously sacrificing other graphical aspects.Chaos Lord Malek wrote...

EDIT: During the ps4 reveal they claimed 1.83 teraflops of graphical power, which puts it around the Radeon 7850. We still don't really know enough thou'.

Though the article about it at RPS seems to suggest it might not be locked to AMD cards.

And there is another reason. I love that devs don't go for simple console ports and actually push the limits of PC gaming again. Console port or not, it seems TR (and AMD of course) want to push that limit again. So, I'll support that.

I'm pretty sure its Nixxes handling the PC port of TR and they did a really nice job with the PC port of Deus Ex: Human Revolution so I don't doubt they'll do a nice job with TR.

Are you sure it's just the 7000 series because the recommended settings for Tomb Raider have a 5870 as the recommended pc spec?

That lovely ponytail Lara has there, I'd love one of those in DA3. The current ponytails tend to be welded in place so that even the 'before' picture for Lara is enviable. The loose hairstyles move more than DAO's, but are hardly great.

"Devon Nekechuck, product manager for high-end discrete desktop graphics at AMD, offers a bit more detail - and a sneaky plug for his company's GCN-based Radeon HD products: 'TressFX will definitely work on any DirectCompute-enabled device. This has roots in the core of Gaming Evolved, where we want to enable technology for all gamers, and not create proprietary features that lock out gamers that use our competitor's products. That said, TressFX is very computationally intensive, and hence games that use TressFX will really be able to benefit from high DirectCompute performance. Because of that, you will see Graphics Core Next-based GPUs excel when it's enabled."
