Harbinger is the villain that Mass Effect 3 deserves, and the one it desperately needs right now.
Where were all the Harbinger fans on the ME2 boards?

They were still waiting for their rose tinted nostalgia glasses to arrive in the mail.AlanC9 wrote...

I'm not a Harbinger "fan" in the sense that Harbinger was really a minor villain who was only teased in the ending in ME2.
The natural expectation for a villain that is teased in the ending, however, is for that villain to have a prominent, if not starring, role in the sequel. And not... to omit any mention of them ever again.
Although Harbinger does have a pew pew pew cameo in ME3, lol.

A confrontation with him is foreshadowed throughout the game and even in a paid dlc after the game was released. Bioware delivered at the end of Priority Earth with an awe inspiring entrance. I'm glad they didn't do the overdone final boss fight. Instead they allowed Harbinger to go out with dignity.jumpingkaede wrote...

Well, personally speaking, I didn't visit the BSN back then.
I was too busy playing the Suicide Mission.
Over. And Over. And Over. Again.

Fair enough.
Full disclosure: I was hoping Harbinger would turn out to be Shepard's father.

Harb: SHEPARD.
Shep: What?
Harb: Your end is inevitable. You can't comprehend us. See you in a few hours.

The people who wanted LI and squad content got what they want. That's good for them but it still leaves me disappointed. Unless they surprise me with his appearance, I'm disappointed in Bioware. Of course, I'd be overjoyed if he popped up but I don't see it happening.

I do not see what Harbinger would add to a Citadel-based plot. Although it would be funny to tell him about his revealed origin after Leviathan and get "We have no beginning. We are eternal." as an answer. Sadly, this won't happen. I don't think the writers want to reveal what the Reapers know about themselves.
He would add a hell of a lot more than any other villain would.

I would personally be pretty happy. I hope we could talk with him, get more insight on the reapers, get an explanation for the MP Collectors and so forth. What would be you're reaction?
1) It wont happen.
2) Any information we find through Harbinger will most likely alter the starchild scene.
3) Bioware specificly stated that the ending will not be adjusted in any way.

We don't need information from him. We just need a confrontation with it. Did Kai Leng give us any information or was he completely useless? I choose the latter option.
The Rannoch Reaper... gave us next to no information but we still had a confrontation.

If it doesn't happen, then they are out of touch with the fan base and Mass Effect is truly dead to me.
