My wonderings are, since the "new and improved" Origin release (ie v9), how do we actually check for game add-ons now? used to be that you'd right click a game icon, go to Game Add-ons from there.

Now, there is no longer the option to check add-ons, all installed (and assuming available but not installed) add-ons are listed at the bottom of the Game Info page - is this where Reckoning and Citadel will show up for downloading/purchasing??

Cheers

You can do it from the Main Menu in the game itself (it forces the Origin page to open). It's how I did it for Dead Space 3.
Other than that? I'm as bamboozled as you are.

When you hover your mouse over the game picture, there is an i next to the play button. All DLC is listed there. I think. Not at home to tell you for sure.

Yes, that brings you to the DLC you own. The link to the store appears to have been removed.

To get to DLC for the game simply right click the game in origin >Show game details and links to purchase DLC are below.

EDIT: Seems I was just beaten to the punch...

1. Hover your mouse over ME3
2. Next to "Play" button, you will see "i" button stands for information.
3. Click it, then you'll see list of dlc's, update info, and such.

DLC you don't own will also appear on that list. Once Reckoning is released, it will appear atop that list with an orange "BUY NOW" button next to it.

Really? Hmm, that didn't happen with DS3. I'll take your word for it.

Gotta love people over-answering the question, and going out of their way to describe the basic interface >.>

I wasn't sure if it would show up on 'that' list.  Thanks for clarifying.

If I calculated this correctly, PC can download the DLC from 21.30 CET (Central European time) on?

There is a good reason for these services. Copy protection. I much prefer online security to root kit style protection. Yes, I get the argument for having no protection, but it ain't gonna happen. Why though, when Windows has a working system built in WHICH EA ALREADY USES FOR ME3 ON CONSOLES are we relegated to unwanted bloatware? I can't think of a single reason why we need Origin. Not one. If Xbox users don't need it then why do we EA? If it gave EA control and allowed them to do better than Xbox gaming like Steam does then I'd get it. Origin has no advantage though so I still don't get why it's on my PC just for ME games.

Now, now - never criticise people for offering help.

Seems my suspicions are what everyone else is saying. And another 2 1/2hrs....looks like I'll be off to bed then and getting up early to start it downloading.

Cheers BSN'ers :)

Online games doesn't need any program to protect copyrights, as online check can be done easily. Offline games doesn't need copyright protection, as any crack can do the trick and are all over google. (even for ME3, sadly)

It is the ILLUSION of copyright protection that let EA think that origin will help.

Games for windows live is cancer and has absolutely ruined several games in the past few years. You are speaking from ignorance.

I just can't accept that answering a totally unrelated question is helpful.  For that matter it all too often goes along with assuming the person asking a question is stupid, or just offering help when the helper doesn't want to help.

Force us to use Origin then force us to have American distribution time! Might as well say 26th Feb US launch date. 27th the rest of the world!

I can get a sneak peek by checking out my xbox version:P

Did that this morning; got all kits but the Talon and no new weapons (Wraith IX though!). On a semi-related note, what's the process on PC for removing non-Reckoning DLC to increase the odds of new kits? I only have enough saved up on PC for like 4 packs and I want them to count.

1. Go into your Mass Effect 3 installation. There's a folder named BIOGame.
2. In the subfolder named DLC, move all the folders named "DLC_CON_MP1", "DLC_CON_MP2", etc. to another location.
3. Start ME3 and buy everything
4. Move all the folders you moved in step 2 back to where they came from

So do I need to move the "DLC_UPD_Patch01" and the 2nd patch as well?

Your answer was helpful.

I was more amused than annoyed really.  I'm sure if someone comes along who's never used origin, their answer will be nice.  I wasn't intending criticism, until I was called out for 'criticising' people who were 'offering help'.

OOh an Easy one..

EA need Origin cause Valve has Steam.  EA has to have a toy too!  Steam is to Transformers as Origin is to Gobots.

actually copy protection isn't even a good argument anymore, no current form of it actually works anyway and just ends up hurting legit customers, Steam games have been cracked for quite some time and i've never looked but im sure Origin games are too, the only real appeal these services have for me is having all your friends and games in the same place

that said the EA dictators have banned free speach and were not supposed to talk about copy protection so we best keep off this topic

Steam is cheap, working fine, not spying on you...

Origin is high priced, lazy, buggy, installing spyware into your PC...
