Maybe ;) But its developers' duty to keep their files safe. As long as the games are moddable in any way, even if its to cheat, people will do it.

I don't know if you are old enough, but if you have a car and you are a gear head, you know what I am talking about. If you don't like the bank reference, you can think of it like buying a new car and not seeing whats under the hood you know. Ofc somebody will open the game files and mess with them if they are not protected in any way

Maybe we are guilty to do it but its not just our fault. Devs should not leave their so precious items data files to players' good will not to touch them. Because this is not going to happen, ever. If I was making a game involving gathering items using real money I would make some custom file format which cannot be accessed with simple editor such as notepad or cheatengine. If you have left something important  vulnerable  to anybody with a bit of knowledge then you are the one to blame too, not just the guy who touched your "stuff" ^_^

No one makes you cheat except for you.  Going back to the bank analogy, let's say that the security is top notch.  It's possible to get in by bombing the ish out of the place.  Someone does exactly that.  Should the response be, "Well, the bank isn't bomb-proof, so it's the bank's fault that I blew it up!"
Everything in life is vulnerable no matter how much security is in place.  By your logic, anyone who gets robbed, beaten or killed is actually responsible for their victimhood.  WTF?  No, the blame lies squarely upon the person commiting the crime.  Glad you got banned.

The car one is a bad reference too. There are laws in place that don't allow you to mod your car the way its possible to mod. you can still do it of course but if you get cuaght there are consequnces. It'll fail emisions if the tester looks under the hood and sees modded equiipment. tinted windows can net you a fine. clear lights are illegal. blue headlights are illegal etc etc. Sure its easy to do, but its still not allwoed and is punsihable if caught. I can walk into a walmart and steal somehting small by putting it in my pocket, it doens't mean i should do it

Lol I got banned xD Really guys? I admit I joined in modded lobbies with higher xp and money award in the past but I never expected to get banned in a COOP game. I mean who really cares about that? Its not a PvP game to ****** off some guy in the enemy team or something.. Its funny to see that BioWare are banning player for their own faults. You have left the files local, not on your servers.. what did you expect? :D Its like to own a bank and leave it with open doors and no guards during the night. But anyway.. Its not a big deal. I've had a great moments with this game. Its tons of fun. It repaid itself 10 times already with all the fun I've got :)

The issue is you were earning things at a faster rate then intended. and yes it isn't PvP but alot of people like earning spots on the leaderboard (rememebr i am shadrock) who quit cause he couldn't keep up with the cheaters in the game. I can care less about eladerboards and such but i undertsand that my 900+ hours to earn what i have isn't fair to me if someone can cheat to get everything in 50 hours.

This is a quite common topic thread here. Try Answer HQ to the left of the thread. There are several earlier threads in this forum dealing with this issue. Google them. You may have to have a live chat with an EA rep. If this is not a ban on you, then I don't see the problem. Unless you got an email saying you were banned. Good luck.

Bioware they do not answer my letters, they do not answer live chat, they ignore me, why they can not build me? I do not know what to do about it, I've tried everything, Thanks biovar that washed me in the toilet.

So if I go out with a gun and kill people it's their fault for be in the trajectory of the bullet and not be fast enough to avoid it?

You cheat knowing that is not allowed, is not BioWare's fault that some people will do stuff for cheat in the game, blame others for the "crime" you do is very inmature.

Yeah, I'm experiencing the same thing.  I have the ME3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition and multiplayer worked fine before the Reckoning MP DLC was released.  I have never cheated or anything like that so I'm wondering what the issue is.

Sorry to disappoint you mate but in my country there are no such laws :D You can do whatever you want with your car ^_^

Tbh I never played for the N7 rank and the leaderboards. I am playing the MP since the release day and I am still in the 500-510 ranks =] I was enjoying the game for what it is, not for the mindless grind. And thats why I exploited the game I guess.

Btw I've got my acc back. Bioware just reset it back to 0. Or thats what the email says. But anyway I am not going back to the game though. I am not starting all over. Its the last DLC, basically its the end of the life span for the MP so.. yeah -_-

must be nice. in california you can't do anythign to your car legally :pinched:

But back on topic. I'm not against modding for fun, but to mod to make the game quicker/easier is the issue. you could have played it normal and unlcoked eveyrhting so why mod for credits? espcially if you were playing only for fun as you stated?

Now the mods i seen like an all husk mode, or all banshee mode, i don't think should be banable. its a fun way to play. I think that BW should have allowed modding of the game files in private lobbies only and have them net 0 experiance and 0 credits.

The more time they spend doing reports and ban waves, the less time they have to fix bugs and make kits better.

That mod awarded no credits at all. So no.
We should be allowed to mod the game like that if it we don't get anyting extra from doing so.

Oh but we might have more fun playing that way, right? Well we certainly wouldn't want anyone having more fun with game now would we? That's no good at all.

Love how people try to justify cheating. Oh it makes the game better, oh it was an accident. How about play the game how its meant to be played, if you don't like how it is and don't wanna get banned then go play something else. It's really that simple

So Wii users are not included in these ban waves i take it? The missile glitching is really bad over there.

Man, so many things about the Wii release are so damn infuriating. Why did you people even port the game to Wii if you were just going to do a half ass job and not maintain it all? Such a shame too because with the gamepad allowing you to take bathroom breaks during multiplayer and not miss anything it could have been the definitive version of the game!

Exactly. I don't think this is a bannable offense. But hey, before platinum matches I am sure modding games existed with all boss matches. Saw one on youtube once. I don't think they earned any credits or experience points. Guys were just having fun. Just my opinion though...

Jeez I'm not a fan of cheating but never have I seen people PROUD of snitching my goodness what a bunch of Randalls.

I have never understood this mentality. There is nothing wrong with reporting people who are breaking the rules.

Reminds me of the prison saying "snitches get stitches". Makes no sense.

There is truly nothing wrong with reporting someone breaking rules, laws, etc... What I (and this person, and others) can't understand is just this: what is it you expect to gain by BRAGGING or GLOATING about it online here? Would you like a medal? A cookie perhaps? A pat on the back? Ye Gods, report it and have done with it... Bioware isn't offering any kind of bounty for selling these people out. No, they shouldn't have cheated. Yes, it's good that someone reported them. Yep, it was even their fault they cheated. Congrats, you cost them the price of an online pass and maybe set their account back to zero. Are you proud that you punished them accordingly? Good for you. Do I care? .... Not in the slightest. Never cheated this game, and never will. The thing is, it's not that big of a deal to leave the lobby, or take the time to check out the gear of the people you're playing with and boot them if they are equipped to cheat. If they join mid game... so you lose some equipment... so what? It's a GAME, folks. Report them and move on. Reporting is the right thing to do. Digging for "Props" because you reported is like fishing for a compliment. Congrats again. You're a Brown-Noser.

Tis true. I distinctly remember a thread where BroJoe was arguing with a BW dissenter about BW priorities about bug fixes, glitches, and monetary losses. I was going to chime in but Derek ninja'd the thread due to its inflammatory nature. I don't offhand remember the address. You don't have to take my word for it though. Just ask any of the BW staff how much productive time they lose doing glitch reports and follow-ups.

Of course they could've always added a Communtiy Report in the Game Options they players could trigger so that the game feedback was recorded and uploaded to a database server. (just a thought :P).

paid 90+ for the supposedly best game in the series

crashes randomly due to allegedly memory issues, tech suggest i run a memory test over night.

fixed after deleted local player profile, still crashes at time. and this is after 5 patches.

instead fixing actual game bug, company enters seek and destroy mode to 'preserve community integrety'.

I've said this and I will say it again, let the cheaters cheat -- on their own. Instead of banning them outright and forever, have them play modded games amongst themselves. Now of course there are those who rushes the scoreboard and those who make game a miserable experience to others, and they deserve permabans, but still think permabans are a bad idea. The action deals huge direct as well as indirect damage to community SIZE.
