According to TIME magazine, the average breast size is now 36C. Those in the art are all smaller. Google it, other sourse are all over the place but overall seem to back that up, it differes from country to country, but with western countries and genetics (which is what this is based on) it is even higher. A lot of it comes down to the abundance of food especially while growing up. The real point is, the art does not overly sexualise anything. It does not warrant such a complaint.

That includes overweight people.
The boob to waist ratio is not absurd in anyway, but it is FAR from normal.

In fairness, it doesn't state "diverse
standards of beauty". Diversity is not the tag line. Different is not
the same as diverse. Oranges, tangerines, and clementines are different
fruits. Oranges, grapes, and cantaloupes are diverse fruits.

Different STANDARDS, not "different examples".
They all follow the same standard.

I feel for you. No one ever makes games for straight male gamers. :(

Count me in the "I don't think OP has a valid point" camp.
Are the variations in those character models all that great? Admittedly, they are not incredibly diverse, but there are still noticeable differences in body types between races.
Ultimately there are resource limitations and commercial considerations. You need to cover the basics before going off on design tangents catering to niche markets.

OP's seeing a problem with female body types but not males is really just a reflection of his/her own hangups. One isn't intrinsically more "normalized" or "sexualized" than the other.

I would also like to point out that women's waist size isn't as relevant to biologically derived ideals as the waist:hip ratio, which shows some variation across cultures but is pretty universally idealized somewhere between 0.6 and 0.8.

I do love this new culture of making "white straight male", "heterosexual", "cis" and other such words a curse when saying them. +1 it is always amusing to read these threads

- whitest, straightest, malest poster on the forum

Something that none of us has done except for one person being sarcastic about this nonexistent tendency?

I like attractive people but at the end of the day will always take more variety over less variety. That's just a given. If I could ask for any one thing it'd be a greater variety of age options instead of just having early to mid 20's aged looking playable character. I'd like to play as an older person from time to time.

Why the hell would the industry exclude you from giving your opinion on what you find beautiful, based on your race & sexuality? That makes no sense. These two things have nothing to do with each other. I think you just wanted to announce you were straight and white, and to that I say: Grow up and mellow out.

If anything, as a straight white male, you've been catered to more than anyone else in the gaming industry, so quit whining.

Everyone is focused on their waist and breasts... but has anyone mentioned, in the past ten pages, that weird, wavy thingy the human woman's legs are doing? :P

I never said anything like that, so, it says more about your lack of reading ability that you wanna make that point. :)

So, here you agree with me that they all follow the same standard of beauty?
Yet you disagree with me and don't think I have a point?

Putting a smiley face at the end of your responses doesn't mean you can say whatever you want before hand.

Also, this thread is/has been for a while "IM RIGHT YOUR WRONG" disguised as a real debate/conversation for far too long.
