Okay, this wasn't intended to be an Alistair fangirl thread. Sorry. Any other hidden dialogue options that you've stumbled across?

Here's one I found early on. It's during the same "why have you remained a templar" conversation. If you're a mage, there's an option to point out that if he likes colourful uniforms, he should have been a mage. I haven't heard that convo in awhile, so I don't remember it word-for-word, but it was very funny. He replies that he thinks the templars' uniforms are so vibrant because they can't feel inferior next to the mages' fashion-sense...

Actually, there are a lot of hidden dialogue options if you're a mage; more than a lot of the other race/class combos, I think. You can make Ser Jory stumble over his words, for example; you can intimidate the bandits outside of Lothering with it; and there's a follow-up conversation with Wynne after her personal quest regarding the possibility of you becoming First Enchanter.

Have I mentioned that I LOVE the fact that the dialogue changes so much depending on your race/class/specialization?

Has anyone done The Broken Circle and the Fade with Alistair at 100 Love? I'm curious to know if the encounter is any different (e.g., different dialogue options, etc.).

Yes and no. His dream is the same - "It's YOU! I was just thinking about you, what a marvellous coincidence... say you'll stay... Goldanna's a great cook!"

I got the one with Sten about children but I've never done the cookie thing. Mine was triggered by Sten making a comment in Denerim about the children playing. When I went back to camp, I did the 'I want to discuss something you mentioned' and this led into a discussion of how children are raised amongst the qunari.

well I have had a conversation with sten after finding Asala, I talked to him at camp after that and he told me of the invasion of his people. Except he got into way more detail about his race, the rebelious of his race, and he also told me that he never wishes to meet me in the battle field.

It's also cool how some party banter can become 3-way, if the right person is present. There's one of Zevran and Morrigan, to which Alistair joins up if he's in the party as well. (if he's not, the last lines are different). I'm sure there are more! If you know any, please do share

I know of two more:

1. When you are romancing Morrigan and Oghren starts his "so...you and the warden?" banter Morrigan will mention that she hopes by Warden he doesn't mean Alistair. After Oghren and Morrigan wonder if Alistair likes girls at all Alistair will remark "I'm standing right here" if present in the party.

2. During the banter between Shale and Zevran where Shale says she would have killed Zevran if it would have been up to her: If Morrigan is present during this banter Zevran will start making comments on how good looking Morrigan is, and that he would never be able to kill someone that pretty without at least bedding her one time before that. Morrigan will end the banter by saying "how reassuring" or something similar.

I've had him talk about the battlefield too but he's always so vague. The best I can figure is that he knows his people will try to invade Ferelden and he no longer wants to see that happen.

How do you get this one to pop up? Are there any specific conditions (e.g., male PC/female PC, etc.)? I've never heard it...but then, I don't often have Morrigan and Zev in the party at the same time.

Yes

basically the blocks all have arrows on them. when they connect with where the fire is at, if the arrow is pointing to the next block, the fire will jump to it
 you have to make a continous fire  path from where it starts in the upper left corner, to the end in the lower right:

And it is not a straight line.

So here was one I noticed. After you get Alistair to a certain point in approval if you're romancing him and then you talk to Leliana she remarks on it. Now I usually got this conversation in camp so it was a "private" conversation but one time I accidentally clicked her while out adventuring. Alistair was in the group at the time. It starts out the same with her going, "So you and Alistair ..." and then she'll say he must be good at following instructions and if you say "Yes and sometimes he comes up with brilliant ideas of his own." To which Leliana replies, "Oh so the little templar is all grown up and has learned to .. ahem .. play well with others. *giggles*"



If you're in the camp with this conversation then it ends. But when I had this convo out exploring as soon as she said that Alistar pops in with, "Why is she giggling? W-what is she giggling about?"

The responses I had were:

1. Nothing. Just girl talk.

2. You. And your performance.

3. Uh ... darkspawn!



I haven't actually selected option 2 but if you choose 1 then Alistair will say something like, "I don't really believe you but I don't want to know." And if you choose 3 then he'll say something like "Riiiight she's giggilng about darkspawn. So funny, those darkspawns."

To which Leliana will say "Oh, we're just talking about how you treat her in bed. Nothing important."



Alistair: "How I....Maker! What is wrong with you women!"

What's really really funny is that you can get this conversation from Leliana even if you haven't yet slept with Alistair.

I'm waiting for Alistair to do the proposing this time around (didn't know that would happen with my first character) and I'm holding out on going back to camp until I get his strength high enough to wear the Warden commander's armor. 'Cause I think he really is just irresistable in that armor. Oddly, my Dalish elf would have waited until asked, while I think this one would do the propositioning, but oh well.

Yeah I usually stick Alistair in that armor. Too bad the helms mostly look silly or somtimes glitch out in the cutscenes so you're still wearing the helm when you shouldn't be.



It also really surprised me with the whole going to the tent business. I thought I had to be the one to proposition him until one of my playthroughs I was waiting for some reason and then he asked my char and I was like *blink*.

He won't ask until after you do his personal quest, just so you know.

I'm going to hold out on this playthrough until after the Landsmeet so I can get that embarassed dialogue I've heard about. So cute. However, I've played a few female characters in romances with Alistair (he's so addictive), and there are some trade-offs in the tent scene/love declaration.

If you're going to make him king, you really do need to harden him; however, if you harden him and don't initiate the tent scene yourself, you don't get a very fulfilling declaration of love (just the, "Before we go, have I told you that I love you? I did? Well, it won't kill you to hear it again."). If you initiate the tent scene instead of waiting for him, you'll get the proposition scene when he's in love with you after you do his personal quest, and it will be him declaring his love for you instead of asking you to spend the night. This is also where he'll say you're the only woman he's been with, and if he has his way, the last.

Alternatively, if he's at Love with you after he sees Goldanna and you choose NOT to harden him in the follow-up conversation, he'll declare his love in that conversation.

Can't have your cake and eat it too. But I much prefer the more mature "hardened" Alistair. Very take charge at the Landsmeet.

Alistair said he loved my char after the love scene which he initiated himself (and not in the after-goldanna conversation). I didn't harden him. He said something like 'This is why i love you! Wow, that wasn't difficult! I love you!"

Yes I have had that one with Morrigan, Zevran and Oghren - Oghren syas something like " So I owe you a flagon you bastard".  I have also had it with Leliana instead of Oghren and she says "you're a master, you win the bet" to Zevran.

Can't think how many times I ran across that bridge in Orzammar to trigger those lines.

There's also one with Oghren and Shale that's amusing:

Oghren: So-ooo.
Shale: What? Why is the drunkard staring at me?
Oghren: So you were a girl dwarf.
Shale:And? What of it?
Oghren: So essentially right now you're a naked girl dwarf.
Shale:Who is also made of stone. Erase the mental image in your head, drunkard, or I will crush it out with my fists.
