Here's another one. I've played this game quite a few times and usually have Wynne and I just recently got this one when wandering through the Wonders of Thedas.

Wynne says something like, "Ahh ... a statue, carved from jade I believe. In the shape of .. oh! Well ... that's rude."

lol

No.

You all have intelligence of the girl you are trying to save. No wonder why you haven't figure it out yet.

I found myself unable to harden Alistair's personality. Mostly because I play a very goody goody character. I will help people. For no reason other than just to help them. I will give them money. I will refuse rewards. In every possible instance in which I can refuse a reward and just say, "Your thanks/happiness is enough." I do that.

I cannot in good faith tell Alistair that everyone is out for themselves when I so clearly do not act that way myself.

But it makes him a far happier person.  In many ways, you're being a lot meaner to him not hardening him.

Agreed. I find it makes him more mature and less willing to be a martyr. He actually likes the idea of being king once you do this, and will demand quite strongly at the Landsmeet that you crown him.

I didn't find it changed the rest of his personality too much, or the dialogue. If you're planning on making him king, harden him. He'll appreciate being made king then; if you don't harden him but give him the crown, I think you lose approval.

When you want to take the boat to Mage tower and have Shale in company, you don't need to threaten the Templar to let you cross. Shale will just straight away tell him to let you across or she will punch him and he caves in at once.

Also, if you have Wynne in your party at Redcliff and get get the quest to find the boy who has hidden in the closet, Wynne will tell him to come out at once, and he immediatly does it.

Want a modified dialogue file? You can harden him in a polite and rational way :)

Ok, I have to know... Can you get Teagan to flirt with you later on? I never got the option in the village, but now my persuasion is maxed out... However, we're off to get the ashes. Maybe when we get back? I just want to see the dialogue!

I just heard a very funny dialogue between Lilieana and Ohgren...went something along these lines:

Ohgren: "Sooo...you were in the Chantry?"

Lil:"Yes, I was"

Ohgren: "Did you have some kind of uniform?"

Lil;"Well, we wore robes"

Ohgren: "Robes? what else?"

Lil: "They had a symbol of the Chantry on them, very plain, but nice"

Ohgren: *breathes a bit harder* "No, what ELSE did you wear under them? "

Lil: "What?!"

Ohgren: *snorts* "Ohhh..you know *pants a bit*.."

Lil:" What?! I'm not going to tell you!"

Ohgren:"Ohhh...so you were...NAKED...mmmm"

Okay, I discovered I could talk to one of the Chantry brothers in Lothering about the holy flame at on the statue of Andraste. I had never done this before. You get a nice little intro to Andraste and some dialogue about how she was cleansed by fire.

PC: So if I sin, I should just light myself on fire?

Brother: Don't be ridiculous. It's symbolic.

LOL.

So many "Oghren Moments."

If you choose him and Zevran to storm Ft Drakon and bail you out of jail, when you get to the female seargant guarding the door, let Oghren try to talk her into leaving. it doesn't work, but the dialogue is worth it.

He says something like "So....what do you do around her all day, other than standing there and looking HOT".

It fails every time, but I always choose it before letting Zev sweet talk her, because it's do damned funny the way he says it.

LoL!  I've done that one and was rolling!  Oghren never fails to crack me up.

Also, my last playthrough I went through the convo where you talk with the two Sisters outside the Chantry in Denerim, the one who talks about the Maker 'breading' sinners and 'the bacon of light'.  Serious funny there!  Tell her you like the older lady's version of the Chant better (and take Alistair with you).

The whole prison break equence was hysterical, but by far, my favorite pairing will always be The broma Brothers!

Zevran: But we are brothers, we're twins! Well, not identical, but how could you not tell?

Oghren: I'm the Pretty one.

And when the guard returns to let Zev and Oghren in, and asks what's their act: (Entirely paraphrased)

Oghren: Well, the elf..he..uhh...juggles swords, and I...uhhh...

Zevran: He does the traditional dwarven dance of death. He sets his pants on fire, and then everything on fire. it's quite the spectacle!

Guard: Allright, but the dwarf's pants stay on. That's non-negotiable.

And in between, Oghren complaining that the clown pants are chafing something fierce.

I can never get through that whole sequence without making my ribs ache laughing so much.

It helps to scroll back so that you can look at it from an aerial view and see where the arrows are pointing and where you can get an arrow pointing in the direction you need.  Roughly it goes along the upper right and down the righthand side of the tiles.

Re hidden dialogue, I don't know how hidden it is but I do sometimes pick up funny lines I hadn't noticed on previous playthroughs.  Recently it was Morrigan berating me after she fell in battle, something like "that wouldn't happen if you were more careful."  I lol'ed at Leliana's "ooh my bruises make such a pretty pattern" line.  This last playthrough I brought Wynne with me to The Pearl and lol'ed at her saying "don't touch anything!"

At the Pearl, I had Alistair in my party and he asked something like, "Why is it called a brothel when there's no broth?"

With enough persuade and cunning, you can get Bann Teagan to flirt with you at Redcliffe Village. He asks you if you're married. Unfortunately, my city elf kind of told him off, so I don't know how far you can get with it!

Not far enough! You'll have to say it's time to get back to work and he teases you with something like, "Good, my secrets are safe then! I was starting to worry."

No way to ever find out what secrets he may be talking about. :(

I don't think so.  Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think there is any more non-quest-related dialogue with Teaghan after you leave for the Urn.  More's the pity.  Flirting with him was a fun surprise the first time I uncovered it, with my human noble female.  Definitely pick the option, later on when you're discussing entering the castle, of telling him that you don't believe he is expendable and you'll save them all.  I was surprised to see this again with a mage.  He's a ladies man, no doubt, and a bit of a rabble-rouser if you take in Oghren's comments about him at the end.  I hear that if you give Kaitlyn enough money in exchange for her grandfather's sword (The Green Blade in Redcliffe), the epilogue says she and Teaghan marry.  I never have enough gold to give her 5 sovereigns, so I've never seen that myself.

Teagan is teh awesome. And no, you can't get anything again except as you explained. I'll have to Ohgren with me sometime to see what he says.

It's true, about Kaitlyn. I don't think I'll be buying her sword again either. ;)

My favorite dialogue so far has been when I had Wynne and Alistair with me in Orzammar. You have to be romancing Alistair and already slept with him at this point. Wynne brings up this conversation about how babies are made and points out that the chantry's version isn't quite true. Anyway it ends with Alistair saying, "Andraste's flaming sword I know how babies are made." I was laughing so hard during that conversation.

Or, after talking to Alistair about Duncan and how Alistair wants to put up some kind of memorial, he'll ask about the Dalish way of honoring their dead.  Little stuff like that.

You get that conversation regardless, I believe, it's just the possible answers that change.

I know you get the conversation about Duncan.  I don't recall what other dialogue you get as a human noble or mage (the only other characters I've gotten that far with), though.  I'll have to see if I have savegames near that point (I save obsessively, so I should).

This can come up anywhere...it's one of the party banter conversations. But yes, it's hilarious. :)

I like Kaitlyn so as long as my characters get Alistair or Zevran, I would be happy to see him together with someone nice.  Posted Image   Re. Oghren, I'm referring to Oghren's banter at the post-coronation when he tells you about Teaghan challenging him to a drinking contest.

Edit:  I love the fact that after you slay the archdemon, the cutscene switches perspective to show Teaghan's reaction.  If your character has flirted with him previously, it makes this moment so poignant.  I imagine he's thinking that it's you up there, that you succeeded, but he doesn't know whether you'll make it back alive.

This happens when you take both Alistair and Zevran with you to the bridge puzzle at the Gauntlet.

Alistair: Hey, see those... thingies on the side of that huge chasm? I bet they're used for something. Maybe I should step on them?

Zevran: Yes, why don't you go step on them? That way, when something happens we'll know it's a trap.

Zevran is at his best when he's being a jerk to others, haha.

These are very hidden, since I don't think they're in the game - bits of the soundset from the young Cailan of the Fade:

Cailan: (threatening) My father can beat up your father.

Cailan: I am the prince and everyone should listen to me!

Cailan: (disagreeing) I'd rather eat my vegetables.
