I love the frontier in AC3, but ya, AC4 seems way more detailed. Actually, is there still some sort of tree-running? I loved doing that. And praise be to the foliage. Hiding in the bushes were convenient in AC3, but even I have to admit it seemed really dumb. Your head is clearly visible but no one sees you.
Which actually also reminds me - when they were talking about hiding in the bushes and how light could effect your visibility to enemies *enemies holding lanterns* - it just made me think of Tenchu Z. You could sneak through bushes (but sometimes your head would poke out and it wouldn't make a difference) and if you passed a light source, you were spotted easier.
Patiently waiting for grappling hooks, Ubisoft.

Yessss! I was looking forward to Aveline missions in AC4, but this is much better news.
Lol this post suits you dp perfectly xD
Heh, if I could spew happy rainbows I would be. As fun as I think AC4 will be, I am not looking forward to playing asSharkbaitEdward (he rubs me the wrong way, to say the least; hoping I am pleasantly proven wrong). It'll be nice to have some new content (for me) to play while I wait for AC4's price to drop.
Well what interests me in him is that he will, accoding to the devs, swing back and foth between Assassin and Templar ideals and ofcourse his own selfish piratey needs. If handled properly, he can be a great character I think.

And that bit there I hope is the last time Ubisoft does this (at least for now). Haytham actually struggled with that in Forsaken (he considered trying to form a truce of sorts) and Connor outright says what an accomplisment it could be if the templars and assassins worked together, and he thinks he can bring that about with his father (which obviously didn't work at all, since Haytham had become too ... I guess unhinged? I can't think of the right word).
Like, three generations understand the necessities of both groups, but no one pulls it off
It'll be different since, and don't quote me on this, I've heard the Assassins are reluctant to work with Edward (which makes sense, given that he is a pirate; or it could be his general attitude/views), and he's murdering templars all the same. I have a feeling Edward's gonna work with the Assassins because 1) They say they fight for the people, which ya that's a good thing to do 2) Templars are well funded, so have fun looting the corpses and taking their investments. If you're gonna pirate, go after this group, you'll make a (pun not intended) killing.
It's interesting seeing these parallels with the family though, and the differences. Both Connor and Edward (I'm making assumptions here haha) are fighting for some type of freedom, but with one you have him fighting for the many, the other for himself. Edward may end up being some type of Haytham/Connor mash-up of a character, sprinkled with selfish ideals.
It's how he was handled in Forsaken that makes me apprehensive. I don't want to say too much, especially if they keep certain aspects of Forsaken canon, then there are some pretty big spoilers (some aren't spelled out in black and white, but it's pretty obvious where the story is gonna go). But that said, I'm also keeping in mind it wasn't the greatest written book ever, and most of the characters were right out flat. Obviously that wont be the case in game.
In short: We've seen it with both son and grandson, so let's see if grandpa is any different.

I mean, we already know how Edward goes out, before he's even in a game.
I wonder if they're even going to include that bit. Can someone experience death in the animus?

It would be interesting. Or they could shift to young Haytham and show it that way. Actually hold on, did young Haytham see his daddy's death?

You saw Altairs death
But we didn't technically experience it, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ezio was watching Altair's recorded memories, right? Not so much living them (unless the Masayaf Keys weren't just recorded memories but some type of fancy animus like ... disc ... things).

He did. He was right in the middle of that kerfuffle. Wah, wah, waaaaaah.

Possible then, to be a young Haytham watching dad die to the hands of templars.
Ah, this family loves it's drama.
Hmm, I've wondered though: Did Edward know Birch was a templar? It would make sense with the whole 'Let's form an alliance!' idea these boys are so in love with.

What I mean is not what they contemplated on forging an alliance. I mean when they are confused about thei own allegience. Connor was a stanch Assassin even if he wanted to form an alliance. So was Haytham in his Templa convictions. We haven't yet seen a character who himself swings between the two groups.

But given that the Assassins recruited him when he was already a murdering pirate, why would they now avoid him? Maybe because he isn't obeying their instructions 100%? But then what would they recruit him knowing he's a scumbag pirate?

Touche~ And true, didn't think about that.
Hey, maybe that's why they don't trust him, maybe they know about his flip-flopping between the two groups? And sorry, you're last bit there got cut off.

And all what I'm saying has been revealed by ubi themselves in official interviews and dev diaries. Not sure if that counts as spoilery.
On related note, this fanmade video tore so many of my feels :'(

But speaking of fan films, have you seen this? Assassin's Creed: Checkmate .

I assumed they cut the speech because it sounded so final and they were gonna make another game with Connor. And then they didn't. And ... I just ... *sniffle* oh, sadness
And ...uh ... more yar! Have ye some somewhat crappy pirate edits.

I think this game has me most excited about sharks and Blackbeard. And the gameplay/enviroments. Mostly the sharks.

I still think we will see more of Connor for sure. If not as a protag then as an NPC in a future Kenway game. And I'm almost positive we're gonna see a kid Haytham in AC4.

I see what you mean though, really did look dull. I guess they just wanted to show off the new characters (but considering how often in AC3 multi I had characters chosen for me, I don't really care who I can play as. I just want to see game modes.)
Okay, I'm starting to like Edward. I'm still a little sour, but I don't hate him. (And they straight up listed his flaws, aww yiss, thankie thankie~) Looks like there will be some clowning around (which, admittedly, after having basically Homestead missions to break the depressing story that is Connor's life, I can't be upset with that).
