Wow, really? Ubisoft really went low to turn the assassins creed series into an anual release. This is me when I heard the announcement:

It looks like they're trying to capitalize on the ship mechanics introduced in AC3.

And they wouldn't be completely wrong, it was one of the best features in ACIII for me.

It was different, but it still has some way to go. My interest is definitely peaked.

EDIT: I wonder if we'll be searching for the fabled fountain of youth?

I loved AC3, but one of my gripes with it was never really feeling the Assassin allure. The lore, philosophical aspect of the Order was absent. Understandable considering the sate of the order in NA and Connor's youth, but still. Now, they're just going to turn Assassins into pirates?

I'm skeptical. But well at least I hope the Assassin order is featured more prominently this time around.
I still dislike the setting, I don't see the appeal or hsitorical relevance. 

Oh and also, enough with the male protagonists already, I'm freakin tired. We already had 3 guys (in 5 games). Just give us one female assassin and not on PS vista.

I concur with your assessment, especially about the Golden Age of Pirates lacking historical relevancy. This new title feels more like filler and I wish Ubisoft would stop with the annual releases. Seriously, we should start a petition because they just don't understand that we don't want a game every year.

Also, it's good to see another AC3 fan. I personally thought that that game was underrated.

Big fan here as well. I thought AC3 had the best story among all the games. I understand some of the gripes though, but I thought AC3 was still a great game.

Eager for those pot-of-gold side-missions, now, are we?

Anyway, a pirate Assassin's Creed game is unexpected for me. I'll have to keep an eye out for more information. But I think that they should take all the time they need.

If you look down in the right corner of the screenshot, you will see it's a recorded clip that was done in January this year, so without a doubt it's from the debut trailer.

Also it's gotten confirmed for Next-Gen consoles aswell.

Also the game is coming in 8 months (if you count the current month when this post was made) and 7 Month's if you don't count March.

So a half year + wait from now.

Never played any AC game except 1/4 of AC1. Still, taht screenshot above me is a valid reason for me to buy this instantly. I'm a big time sucker for pirates.

I beat them all up through Brotherhood. They lost their appeal to me.

AC2 was a pretty impressive game.  Once they started mass-producing, it went down hill.  AC3 was such a disappointment in my eyes.  The only redeemable thing about the game was the sea battles, which Ubi is trying to squeeze the life out of too by doing AC: arggghhh.

I actually enjoyed Assasin Creed III .. The forest/snow and naval battle were awesome. The graphics of this game (especially the pc version) was underratted(probably because it's just ''another AC game).

The game though .. Was made wayy too much easy and had serious boredom moment. I think they should have made a completetly new IP with Pirates and taking advantage of the new tech they made.. They have small balls. They do this because of the economy and how the AC is a well established title.

They're calling it AC4:Black Flag, so yeah. Its AC4.

I don't mind to be honest, I love the AC series. Perhaps the 4 should be removed to appease people. Eh.

I don't mind. Some of my ancestry is Caribbean so I'm very very interested.

Well, there have been annual releases for a while now. AC2 and forward have been good(perhaps Revelations being a little less so) so I'm confident they can do a good job.

Well that trailer was okayish anyhow, but not the best debut trailer ive seen from Ubi.

Ty m8, will input the trailer on Monday since i don't wanna take the risk of putting up the leaked full one until Monday eve. Ubi is too secure tightly tuned for risking that on YT.
