I can't get these shanties out of my head.  Spanish ladies is my favorite, I think.

But yeah, I liked AC2.  This game is one I've been looking for for a long time now though.  For me it goes AC4>AC2>AC1.  Never played 3.  I'm taking my time as well, I'll be it'll be a 40-50 hour game for me as I'm after every single chest and fragment.

I am terrible at getting those. Just rotten. Sometimes I rock it, and others, well, Edward seems to have his own ideas about how to climb buildings at times, than I do.

That's the same order I see them in as well. AC2 was always my favorite. I did enjoy Brotherhood too, but this is leagues past AC2 for me.

AC2 was my favorite until AC4. Its everything I love about AC2 with a second even better pirate game layered on top of it.

Admittedly, I'm a little biased about the Pirate stuff.

I gave it plenty of chance and it's boring. <_< Besides they pulled a Call of duty and released it a year after AC3 come out should have atleast waited 2 years. AC3 sucked and it's better than AC4. But it's my opinion.

How much of the game is the AC3-style (or improved) sailing vs. the AC1-2 style parkour?

How many times is it brought up that Ubisoft is huge and they have multiple teams working on AC games at the same time? Meaning there's an AC game being developed right now with a 2-3 year development time that will be released next year.

If people feel they don't need an AC game every year, they can simply, get this- choose not to get them.

Makes sense to me instead of getting it every year and then complaining about it.

I thought MW3 sucked so I didn't get BO2.

I thought DA2 sucked so I didn't get any of its DLCs.

I thought ME3 sucked so as of this time I don't plan on getting the next Mass game.

Make a decision and stick with it. Developers don't hold all the power that the gaming community seems to think they do.

I love the sailing. Like LOVE it. That was my favorite aspect of AC3 (it certainly wasn't Connor, lol). I just recently started taking over military forts, and have been having a ball. My first couple of attempts were pretty sad, but now I think I'm getting the hang of it. My biggest problem was not knowing how to use mortars, but I finally wised up and looked it up (duh), and it's been delicious chocolate cake ever since.

So, getting the shanties is basically like collecting what, Ben Franklin's pages?

^ Yep, exactly. You've got to chase them down, then your crew will sing them. I haven't figured out if you can actually tell them which one to sing, but I haven't tried, either.

Its both but very integrated this time around. Take your ship into battle, then swing over to the next ship Errol Flynn style for some boarding combat if you want. Or sail your ship into a town and hop to the docks and get into some ac2 style parkour action.

There is very minimal loading this time around and feels very seamless. For example, while in town you can see ships sailing by that actually will be there if you hopped in your ship to attack them. Or if you take a Fort in ground combat, you can see that fort firing on ships passing by.

Expect to spend alot of time in the ship. Even though many of the story segments are on land, the piracy parts will have to be pursued enough to get ship upgrades you'll need at certain points.

I wish you could give it another try, and get a bit further than you did. Once you get the Jackdaw and start doing some sailing and liberating, I think you'd change your mind.

Ahh. Poopy.

Well, glad I got the heads up a few weeks in advance. I'm gonna chase them down like super hard.

Like, you don't even know. Edward will set the world's sprinting records.

Another thing I'm glad to know before release.

My plan was to upgrade the Jackdaw and Edward as much as possible as early as possible.

Damn it guys, you're making me want to watch Pirates 4 again.

Disney's Queen Anne's Revenge was pretty boss. So was Blackbeard.

I'm at just under 40 hours, and I'd say I've spent probably 20 hours on the ship. Not that I've had to. I WANT to. The undiscovered locations show up as question marks, which makes me even more obsessed with finding out what they are. When you liberate forts, even more items pop up on your map, too. So for me, that means lots of places to visit. I must get to the bottom of what each message in a bottle, chest, cadaver, etc. is all about, dang it.

Also, I still don't have the Jackdaw fully upgraded. I'm sure many people have made a ton of cash, and acquired the materials they need by boarding ships, but I've only recently gotten into doing that. My tactic has been to loot warehouses, but now that I've got some ships under my belt and in my fleet, I'm feeling more comfortable about taking on other ships. I actually took down two man-o-wars, one right after the other, last night. They're much easier than I thought they'd be, since they're slow. But the fear of the unknown kept me from it for a while.

Top-level improvements to the Jackdaw have a plan requirement - meaning you have to find the treasure map, then the corresponding buried treasure chest to get the plan to build it. And of course, you have to have the resources and the cash. But it's all doable eventually. More quickly if you're aggressive.

When it comes to the Shanties I think "Bully in the alley" is my favorite :wizard:

Although it would have been awesome if we had a shanty like this as well! With Edward singing along ofcourse! :D

Rephrasing- Tell me how many achievement points you've made for AC4. Or how many trophies you've earned, in case of PS3.

^ I'm not exactly sure. The last time I looked (Saturday?), I think I was at 240. I'll check when I'm back at home. Gotta do that work thing all day, blah.
