Yeah, they were good, but they weren't all that different from ACII. Not really worth $60 anyway.
They actually were.

I didn't think this series was as milked as Call of Duty. Guess I was wrong though..spirosz wrote...

Well, how many Assassin Creed games have there been in the past three to four years?

That many.
I don't know why people are like, "Oh my God, so soon?"
Its always been this way. Maybe they weren't numbered, but we've had annual AC releases since what, 2009 with AC2?
AC2-2009
ACB-2010
ACR-2011
AC3-2012
AC4:BF-2013
It must be the fact that its numbered that has people going "Why so quickly?"

And looks like we'll have Ezio knock-off and feel even less like part of Assassin's Creed.

Assassin's Creed was "Oh look at this exciting new game with free-running and such! Story is boring and repetitive though..."
Assassin's Creed II was "Wow! Look at this game! They added shops and currency and new weapons and dual hidden blades and Da Vinci's inventions! This is so cool!"
Brotherhood was basically, "Oh, the exact same game as II, but with MP. Okay, cool."
Revelations was "Okay, um, another Brotherhood? At least we get some more gameplay with Ezio and Alt-- Oh, never mind, it was only a few hours long."
Assassin's Creed III was "Yes! Finally! We're finished with spin-offs! New locations! New Engine! New assassinations! New MP! Oh wow this is awesome!"
The difference between the main games and the spin-offs is the HUGE leaps in gameplay. The spin-offs always added one or two new features.
Doing another main game already is just disappointing. They're not gonna take their time on it, which is what most people dislike about the spin-offs. They're lazy cash grabs. Not entirely terrible lazy cash grabs, but lazy cash grabs nonetheless.

Though, each game wasn't that bad in it's own right, I quite enjoyed it till Brotherhood, that's when I stopped.

I'm more worried about the fact this game isn't being made by Ubisoft Montreal (who did all the other games of the series).
That happened with Splinter Cell once, it was designed by another studio and they change a lot of things which led to Double Agent (xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions) being really bad. While Montreal decided to do the PS2, old xbox version, which was WAY better than the other versions.

The numbered games and the spin-offs aren't really the same thing. That's why people are complaining.

Brotherhood introduced not only MP, but the Assassin recruit system, new gadgets, a new location, Borgia towers, and expanded on the horse combat.
Revelations introduced a new way to navigate through the city, mocam facial captures, tower defense, a new location, different groups to distract your enemies, and first-person gameplay.
Furthermore, you don't know how long Ubisoft has been working Assassin's Creed VI considering the fact that they have multiple teams working on the franchise simultaneously. Assassin's Creed III was being made while other branches of Ubisoft were making Brotherhood and Revelations.
As for the first Assassin's Creed, the story was not boring and repetative(the gameplay, however, was). As a matter of fact, the story of the game was deemed to be one of the major saving graces of it.

C'mon guys. The games themselves would be no different if the titles had been AC3(ACB), AC4(ACR), AC5(AC3), and now AC6(AC4).
Its different in the case of say a Dragon Age when freaking everything gets a total 180. Then it doesn't need a numbered title.
But AC has kept the same general theme throughout the games, and while there have been changes, the core of it is still there, and nothing has been so drastically changed gameplay wise that it feels like playing a game not of the AC franchise.
The title of the game shouldn't bother you. And if it does, just call it AC:Black Flag.

Personally, I'd rather they keep popping them out. I love these games, all of them. The more the merrier, I say. Even the titles that aren't numbered.
