In the beginning I thought the fact that Haytham's clothes were primarily blue and red (like the Borgia's back in ACII) was a dead giveway that he was a templar. However, it endered a grey area for me when he killed Miko (the guy in the opera house) with the hidden blaes, since assassin's are the only ones with those.

Goddamn it takes forever to upgrade your ship.

I'm in I believe the 7th or 8th sequence, and I've still got a ways to go with that.

I think I'm gonna take a break and just go for assassin contracts, naval contracts, etc etc

You know, I would actually run around the house, looking for stuff after I'd acquired a relic from Kenway's Fleet, or from purchasing it. It was interesting to see how big or small things ended up, as well as where.

In some ways, I still prefer the AC2 villa, tbh. Buying those huge pieces of art were gratifying, because you could see the empty spot being filled.

Have you figured out why the female assassains are hanging around the house? More specifically why you can chase them? I tried once but when we got to the forest she disappeared.

Also, I thought it was a little weird if you go to your pile of loot in the cellar, you can see light coming through the 'ceiling' with vegatation, like there's a hole in the ground. But when you go above ground theres nothing. There should be a hole!

I personally liked Connor a lot. I enjoyed the idealist-in-a-non-idealistic-world.

I'm more curious as to what the purple stuff in the needle was, it must've had something else to it. If he wanted to kill you he could've broke your neck or something.

STILL SPOILERY JUST IN CASE

I suspect it was something to knock you out. To keep you around so Juno could inhabit your body.

Too be honest. I call Charles Lee's behavior towards young Connor out of character. Same goes for Haytham and his pals. I liked them alot when we played as Haytham. They didn't seem to be the types that wanted to rule the world, simply to help it and understand things beter.

Also Charles Lee had no hate towards the native's yet suddenly he thinks Connor is dirt under his boot? Yeah right.

I think the reason why they made the templars have a 180 in their personality was to hope that we as the players would have a reason to hate them as Connor since yunno, story reasons.

That's what I thought until this...

I too was a bit surprised but after finishing the game, it made sense to me and this is my interpretation.
It’s clear Haytham relied heavily on Charles and was putting a lot of
responsibility on him, prepping him up to become the leader of the
Patriots. It’s also clear that Charles heavily admires Haytham, even
loves him.
The way I see it, it’s a co-dependent relationship. Charles wants to
be like Haytham, but the more and more Haytham gives him
responsibilities, the more and more he feels inadequate in comparison
and so degrades. While Haytham is the charismatic one with authority and
who commands respect, Lee kinda stumbles around not really commanding
anyone’s respect or admiration.
I believe that throughout the years, this relationship has been
draining Charles and so he kept degrading. The final straw was Haytham’s
death and here we see Charles being at his worst (and most tragic); his
idol died for him, because of him, and he couldn’t stand it.
At first I had thought that Charles was a pretty weak antagonist, but
then I came to see him as one of he best in AC. I believe that each
Templar in AC3 (and AC1) represents a part of the Templar ideology. In
Charles’ case, it’s hero worship. It’s this messianic obsession with
hero(es), something that one can argue the Assassins mirror (as they do
in most things).  It’s unhealthy.

That's what I did. I advanced far enough in the main story to unlock the diving bell, and then I spent the next 2 days conquering all the sea forts, completing all the naval/assassination contracts and exploring all the underwater locations for Jackdaw blueprints.

Bear in mind this involves a lot of work and time, but it's worth it in the end. ;)

^ Oh yeah, you've gotta stop blazing through the MQ, and do some pirating! I think I stopped around the 5th sequence, and spent the next 20 hours plundering ships, and doing contracts, before I got back to the MQ.

I thought about that as well, but then why would he have let the guards kill him? He wants to see Juno so badly, injects you with a serum for her to inhabit your body, and then risks his chance by attacking the guards, knowing he'll be shot? It doesn't make sense.

STILL GOTS SPOILERS

Well it's pretty obvious he's gone partially insane. Not that Juno's completely sane herself, but both back in the 1700s and what with his maniacal comments towards "you" earlier in the game, I don't think he's capable of being completely rational when things are going south for him.

I've got to say, thats one thing I'll give previous ACs over Black Flag- its a little overwhelming with the sudden need to grind.

Never felt like I had to do that as Ezio. Altair not really, Connor maybe a little bit. But in this game its necessary.

I mean, I was having trouble with the medium difficulty forts, and I realized I needed to upgrade my ship, but the money and supplies necessary mean I've basically got to eliminate every single ship I run into.

I'd rather just run into more Man o Wars. I've found where they're located, in a safe place for me to sail, but still.

Anyway, I souped up Edward's abode completely, right on time too given the main story.

I think last I checked I have a little under 20K in reales but I need to do some plundering.

The Xbox One tracks your achievement progress as you go, and since I don't have the achievement yet to plunder 30 ships, I guess that means I'm lagging behind.

I'll point out for you, prince--money is best found from treasure chests and such. Pirating doesn't pay too well on its own.

What I did was unfog the whole map in a city, then run around collecting treasure chests. Or did Assassin Contracts.

I've been doing that too. Treasure chests help to an extent. They add up, considering the amount of them.

Assassin Contracts I've only been doing lately.

In 2 Tuesdays, get ready to go back to the Caribbean again.

First DLC has now being given it's official release date.

Image IPB

Notice however PC Platform is not listed, that seems like a delay then for the release for the PC then in my mind, but only the date the DLC releases, can confirm that or not.

The Debut of being the games FIRST Black Assassin, is yours to take up very soon!

If you had just ended the game's Story, you better get back to it again in 2 Tuesdays!

I've only played a little so far and I've encountered the same ages-old problem as before: running too close to a building may will result in your climbing said building. This is because the trigger is used for both running and automatic climbing. Another thing is that Edward (but this is also a problem with previous games) is too slow when climbing a building so the "chase" side quests can be a real pain. Imagine, if you can, you're pursuing your target at full speed, jump to the next building and barely grab hold of the windowsill. Congratulations, you'll be wasting precious seconds climbing to the top of the building before you can resume your chase. To top it all, the tackle button works when it wants to, what results in me murdering all of my chase targets in exasperation. Also, I think shooting controls for the mouse are not optimized but I'll have to verify that one.

Be sure to bribe every bartender, in every tavern - most of the time, they'll give you a treasure map (if it's your first time talking to them), or a cadaver location. Then look for the buried treasure! Some of those chests contain 4000 reales.

To get more treasure maps, be sure to use Kenway's Fleet. You'll get collectibles for your house, as well as a treasure map, in some locations.

Before I got my ship maxed, I took great pleasure in looting warehouses. They respawn, so that helps. However, they don't seem to contain much metal. There were times where I'd have over 1000 in each type of material...well, except metal. That's best acquired through plundering.

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I'd recommend going after the Royal Navy ships. There's always one carrying 10,000 reales.

Lastly, to take on forts, mortars and broadside cannons are your friends. And keep moving. Image IPB

I don't need rum and sugar so much as I need metal. Lots and lots of metal.

That and the plans for some elite upgrades.

^ You'll have to do some ship boarding, then. I'd recommend taking out the forts in the area you want to 'fish' in, then go to town. Navy ships always have the most metal...well, and Hunter ships do as well. Get your wanted level nice and high, and they'll have a bunch of it.

I'll get my Wanted level up then. I usually keep it as low as possible.

I did that same thing, too, in the beginning. Someone in this thread (AstuzOz, I think?) tipped me off that Level 4 Hunter ships were higher-level, and carried more metal, so I tried it for myself. Sure enough, that was the case.

Also, I noticed that if you do have a high wanted level, you'll generally see higher-level man o' wars, which are helpful to acquire for Kenway's Fleet. Some of the missions require 80 storage, and lower level man o' wars just don't cut it.

There's really not much reason to clear your wanted level, if you're trying to get more materials. The higher the level, the better the prize.

So far I'd say its working pretty well, following your advice.

Still, its annoying that I feel like I have to do this, rather than actually making the choice to.
