For what it's worth? Baldur's Gate 2 had a romance that could result in pregnancy, Aerie.

If your LI got injured in combat, the baby had a risk of miscarrying. If the baby made it to term, you got a little baby to carry around in your LI's inventory backpack.

I swear, I'm not making this up.

That's ...

That's either mind-bogglingly brilliant and mind-bogglingly insane.

Perhaps both.

EDIT:

It also reminds me that I need to return to my BG2 playthrough.

This sounds like an interesting idea. It would be a first for video games, I suspect. Definitely a first for BioWare. OK, so maybe not. I haven't finished BG2 yet, and as I am romancing Aerie I will see it... eventually.

I approve of a companion being preggnant, or being able to be knocked up and seen as either preggers or not preggers (the latter still being as such, but the appearance having not changed due to it being recent).

This is quite possibly the best pitch for DLC I've ever read.

Make it so, BioWare.

I wouldn't mind a LI with possible pregnancy, or just a companion that start out pregnant.

Not really something i would beg to get, but it sounds interesting nontheless.

Aerie could miscarry? Are you sure? Do you mean, like, if she had to be resurrected or something and it was a glitch?

Eeek. (I think I always assumed she was protected with fairy magic.)

I could be seriously misremembering something. But I seem to remember this happening in one of my playthroughs. It's been a while since I've played SoA/ToB, though, so I'd differ to anyone else who has more recent knowledge.

Well, when I was preggers I just wanted to lay on the beach and eat chips, if that helps.

"Screw your combat orders, Inqusitor. I'm going to the beach to eat some chips."

So maybe they'd be out for a few missions.

While this is the more realistic approach, I find it unacceptable.

As a wise man once said, "We want steaming hot pregnant women that charge gloriously into battle."

Don't be mean, just because this content will be in the game, that doesn't mean you will have to take advantage of it yourself.

Indeed. So whoever the enemy is attacks your camp and night and preggo picks up a blade and kicks ass.

Only if we get realistic depictions of morning sickness.

There are plenty of animations they could recycle from Dead Space 2 that would fit the ticket.

You joke, but I once heard a story about a pick-up Star Wars tabletop game where the GM asked all his players (and he had like 10 of them) to play pregnant women. It was rather creepy.

Well, I only had the Aerie baby thing once, I think, but I likely had a super high level party and she probably wasn't getting hit a lot, so you might be right.

(PS. But miscarriage can be a really tough topic. Even retrospectively picturing Aerie miscarrying due to the possibility of me not managing my party well in some battle makes me reach for a tissue.)

I'm having an unfortunately realistic depiction of morning sickness in my own life, every day; I wouldn't necessarily love to see it in game, as well. ;)

That said, I'd be fine with a pregnant love interest or companion, though I'd personally prefer for the character not to be pregnant from the get-go; I think that it'd probably come to be the defining aspect of their character, which I don't love.

And if companions or NPCs could be pregnant, I'd support it for a female PC, as well. Would certainly make adventuring interesting!

No untoward fetish stuff, thankfully. After one disastrous session with the GM, who also refused to let the players make any decision that screwed with his plot, the fellow who told me this tale convinced the other players to revolt and make their own group.

I'm trying not to; I'm easily influenced right now. Someone said "chips" earlier in the thread, and I thought, "Mmm . . . chips are good . . . "

The baby (Quayle was the name, BTW... what a cruel, cruel mother Aerie was...) was locked and could not be moved out of Aerie's inventory. Not even to the PC's. I guess she's really possessive like that.

No chance for a female PC to be involved in a pregnancy romance. Something I'm sure the RoWitDAS thread would have a field day with if it happened in DA.
