Only if we get realistic depictions of morning sickness.

I say make it part of her skillset- a short range stun/blind with a low cooldown.

I say we start with 'verp' as the level one power and go from there progressing ultimately to a:sick: broken fire hydrant flow of mouth waste.

For what it's worth? Baldur's Gate 2 had a romance that could result in pregnancy, Aerie.

If your LI got injured in combat, the baby had a risk of miscarrying. If the baby made it to term, you got a little baby to carry around in your LI's inventory backpack.

I swear, I'm not making this up.

If it's in her inventory, Could you trade it for better armor?

The baby (Quayle was the name, BTW... what a cruel, cruel mother Aerie was...) was locked and could not be moved out of Aerie's inventory. Not even to the PC's. I guess she's really possessive like that.

No chance for a female PC to be involved in a pregnancy romance. Something I'm sure the RoWitDAS thread would have a field day with if it happened in DA.

RoWitDAS?  What is that?

As long as the baby's name isn't Quayle.

I think it sounds like a good idea and it would make the game more realistic in my opinion. But, I feel like if Bioware was going to do this it would need to be approached carefully, something like this could either go incredibly well or extremely bad, at least thats how I feel about it.

Indeed. It would have to be detailed enough as to not be trivial without pushing other things out of the way.

What if the baby is always a boy and named Dan Quayle?

I understand some may not be mature enough to discuss this matter, but I'd appreciate if you would reinforced your opinions in some way rather than resorting to dramatics.

Because it's a logical thread discussing an idea for a game that has absolutely nothing to do with fetishes or anything else, if you don't want to contribute anything useful to the thread then go find another one to complain on.^_^

Lolirony.

Anyway, this is... arguably possible, but would require either timeskips for for someone to not be a party member, and I'm sure there are other flaws hidden in here like rakes in the grass, that I haven't yet found.

Ooooooooh. Right, yeah.... hrm... I'm a woman gamer and a mother of two young sons: I wouldn't mind storylines in the game that involved pregnancy/children, even with risk of loss, so long as none of it was forced on the player/PC. But on the flip side I don't see it being something well executed in the game, either for an NPC or a PC and, like some others have said, if it can't be done well, I'd rather not have it at all.

I don't understand the reticence to speak of the subject though: What's wrong with the possibility of a pregnant NPC? Or PC? Given the truths of a high-stress situation, it's entirely possible a female PC/NPC might not even realize they were pregnant until the games end, even if the game covered a few/several months: High stress/highly physically demanding situations often lead women to cease menstruation and the like, IRL, so it's not like the classic give-away would always be an option. And the risks of miscarriage or the death of a child can be handled dramatically, but decently: I mean, in DA: O you can kill Connor and abomination or not, they sure didn't pull any punches in making him seem like a poor little boy. :crying: Harsh stuff! BUT... well done. That's the key.

Aerie could miscarry? Are you sure? Do you mean, like, if she had to be resurrected or something and it was a glitch?

Eeek. (I think I always assumed she was protected with fairy magic.)

I could be seriously misremembering something. But I seem to remember this happening in one of my playthroughs. It's been a while since I've played SoA/ToB, though, so I'd differ to anyone else who has more recent knowledge.

This is how I recall it as well. Unfortunately the romances were so touchy I only ever had one playthrough where I successfully got to that point. They were extremely easy to botch.

You know, this isn't a bad idea, Bioware could even make DLC where the baby is born! :D The baby could be disk locked content, if you don't buy the expansion before the baby comes to turn, your LI miscarries. After that, you could make a microtransaction to buy an armored baby carrier! :D

This is like the best idea ever.

Didn't the male Dwarf Noble get a kid  on Origins ?

PS: As a woman that has been both pregnant and breastfeeding I can tell you that it is not very good to fight Darkspawn or do any battle while preggo or nursing a small baby. :innocent:

rape threads and now this? is it "tell the bsn my weird fantasy" week? bioware's here to make a videogame, not an outlet for your fetish.

Ah yes, discussions of pregnancy in a video game must be a fetish. I always forget about that.

I see no issue with it as the Op is not asking for a pregnant companion to sleep with, but pregnancy being a result of a male/female companion and female/male pc having sex, like Morrigan's OGB.

Wait, what? I thought it was asking for a pregnant companion to sleep with, that's why I edited out my original post about Volus Warlord's issues with homosexuality.

I think he's asking for a character who is already pregnant, and/or a romancable character who can be impregnated.

The OP wasn't totally disgusting or inappropriate, so I assume he wanted a serious discussion, although I must admit also thinking that this is the same dashing fellow who tried to tell us all how awesome rape can be, in a now deleted thread.  It's a little hard to take anything VW says as anything but trollbait.

Generally, it's considered a good idea for satire to be funny, or clever, or at least something. Otherwise it's called trolling, folks.

Oh, somebody's just being a grumpy-pants.

I think it could be called clever. Seeing as how people didn't realize what he was doing.
