I knew it!

This quest only begins if The Warden is a male dwarf from the Dwarf Noble Origin and had relations with Mardy during the origin story. You encounter Mardy when you return to Orzammar. Because of your exile, the child she bore you is now considered casteless. It's up to you to restore the child's birthright.

Yeah, I don't see the need to get offended at having a child in the game be an option. Romance is an option, class is an option, attitude and character, etc...options. I would never choose to sell Fenris back into slavery for example, but I'm not going to get all huffy because it's an option and some people want it.

I for one have often thought it would be awesome if the PC and LI could have a child, even if it's something like female PC or LI learns they are pregnant towards the end of the game and it affects some dialogue and adds to the epilogue slides.

I am confused. If this is somehow a pop at me (???) I don't understand how you came to that conclusion. Nothing I wrote mentioned gender at all, or were influenced by the poster I was responding to's gender in any way shape or form.

I'm pretty sure you are just sticking up for your friend in which case I'd call that comment pretty underhanded indeedy.

tehehe, nah, too old for this BS. Troll is getting personal and I don't appreciate getting talked this way and don't have to take it.

He probably needs to be put on a drunk tank, was reading some other posts of his today and he is being rude all over. Waste of time engaging him.

Just some teen having an emo day. Best to just ignore it.

Condescending, dismissive and insulting in 1 short but sweet sentence. And they tell me I'm the troll! I didn't realise I would hurt your feelings so bad on the other page m8. If your post had any kind of actual substance or meaning it wouldn't have gone down like that i swear. Can't we all just get along?

Reading this makes me think of the new Fire Emblem, which takes place over a long period of time, and has characters pair together by the player's manipulations (or not), have kids, and those kids become units. If we had another DAII where it took place over a long period of time, I'd like to potentially see kids created from your machinations/romance.

Tell me does everyone on this forum pounce on any chance they get to be overly self righteous about nothing?

And do you pounce on any chance to be condenscending when you don't agree with people? Please stop doing this. You have no higher ground to speak down from than anyone here.

People are actually campaigning seriously for in-game pregnancy......? Same morons who are so worried about MP taking up developer time I don't doubt. What I want to know is why this forum cares so little for gameplay. Every thread is either aesthetics, lore, romance or companion related and all the "big" threads are these boring topics. No one actually cares about gameplay. The specific gameplay threads get about 3 pages and die. I feel like I am starting to understand why Bioware games have taken such a huge turn for the worse these past few years. They spend too much time reading these forums. Forums which are disturbingly short on any kind of actually useful feedback.

It doesnt even end there. When you actually attempt to get a discussion about gameplay going you get dozens of useless "it feels fun" or "it feels fast" or "it feels difficult" posts. Specifics are few and far between. Tell me did this forum actually ever have any *gamers* post?

Subjective and shallow. What makes a decent Bioware game? Just your interpretation? For many It comes down to a lot more than just the mechanics of gameplay. They might want to be involved in strongly driven story, of which romance/companion elements could make up a part of that. That to them, IS 'gameplay'.

Also, decent gameplay mechanics are something we should take for granted from a major developer. Banging on about mechanics is a bit like telling a writer how to form a cohesive narrative without caring what the narrative is about.

Aside from that, ingame pregnancy is laughable and the OP is quite obviously a troll.

For what it's worth? Baldur's Gate 2 had a romance that could result in pregnancy, Aerie.

If your LI got injured in combat, the baby had a risk of miscarrying. If the baby made it to term, you got a little baby to carry around in your LI's inventory backpack.

I swear, I'm not making this up.

Yeah, that was real fun!

Aerie gave birth to a boy (named him , if i rememeber corectly, after main hero sort-of-stepfather) right near Watcher's Keep. Party memeber's comments were hallarious. One palladin-dude even said that my protagonist and Aeries should marry each other, or baby would be considered a bastard (or something like this).
Great moment.
Besides, a baby was conceived when Bhaal's essense was still part of protagonist... Interesting.

I doubt, though, that Bioware will be able to pull something like that now.

You what? Firstly whilst I used some harsh words about the threads on this forum I did not mean story, lore etc were irrelevant. Secondly no, that is by definition not gameplay. You cant randomly deny the definition of a word as it has been used for decades because you don't necessarily like the semantics of said word.

Third you have actually gotten that completely backwards. Gameplay is the one thing an AAA developer is least likely to make good on. Check DA2 out, or Swtor. Not to mention Bioware is known for it's good story, lore. If anything one should be taking good lore/story for granted and be worried about gameplay.

Just look at the fuss over people not even wanting insurance to cover birth control going on in the US right now. Women's reproductive systems are, frankly, still a battleground, and the statement, while not directly engaging that, was very close to it. I can understand the reaction.

Clearly, people not wanting to pay for other people's condoms makes women's "reproductive systems" a battleground.

Ignoring the fact that you mention a GAME, well, if there's sex why can't there be kids? Are people really that shallow, that all they want is pleasure without responsibility?

There could be condoms or some kind of Dragon Age version of morning after-pill. Who know.

Wynne mentions that there's birth control in Thedas, but it's not 100% reliable.

ETA: I find it kind of funny that some guys mock female gamers over wanting the pregnancy thing, but they already get it and don't make fun of that. Not that I want a pregnant PC -- I already have four kids, I don't need to relive that experience in a video game.

Although as the mother of a boy and a girl. I would be supporting if Bioware (or other game maker) promoted condoms and safe sex. Never hurts to try to tell them one more time "Don't be a fool, shield your tool:wub:

Does this mean we get the "try for baby" option on the bed/tent/wherever we sleep like in the Sims?

Goddamn I love BSN. Really. BSN is my asexual Pregnant furry LI.

OP, your post turns even more awesome if I imagine you look the man on your profile picture.

I love it that you are clearly  NOT asking for a family, NOT asking for ability to make them babies rather than have sex. You are not asking for RPG that is exploring them joys of parenthood.. Noo, **** all that. You are  specificially after  PREGGO LI. That's so ****ing awesome:D This is most perfect thread on DA 3 forums and I honestly, sincerely hope Bioware makes you the lead dev and creative lead of all their products.I mean let's be honest here video games are mostly about masturbation rigght? that's why we play them right?Or have I gotten it all wrong:O

I love BSN. In extremely non consensual way.
