I just bought Warden's Keep through the ingame point system. I was informed the content would start downloading. I am a little worried, as I see no downloading screen anywhere, indicating the progress. Could anyone give me some additional information on this? Am I supposed to leave the game open in order for it to download? Is there anywhere I can see the progress?

Exit out to the Main Menu and there is a Downloadable Content option. Once there you can click on Download Progress to see download progress of course. I think it will keep downloading after you exit the game, but I've never tried it.

In the downloadable content menu at the start screen (where you bought the dlc), there are 3 tabs at the top. First is where you buy DLC, the second is a download in progress menu, and the third lists all the DLC and mods you have and allows you to check box them on and off.

Hm, it is not downloading. I get the impression I need to upgrade to game version 1.0. Is there a patch somewhere I am unaware of?

Game Version 1.0 is the default version you start with, unless you installed the patch.

There is a Troubleshooting FAQ that has solutions to a lot of the common problems getting DLC to download.

Thanks for the help Kepha. I've tried the troubleshooting FAQ, but to no avail. I cleared the download cache, as the FAQ advised, and now both the Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner DLC are both in my DLC tab, but I have no points left. The download in progress tab is empty, as if I haven't spent any points at all...

Verify that the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater is running. To Manually Start it.

1) Exit the game

2) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

3) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

4) Right click it and select START

5) Start the game again.

The service should automatically start when you start the game, but there's a timing issue where the game gets to the point it needs it before its started. If you have ongoing issues with the service there is a beta fix. http://social.biowar...81613/59#542935

Thanks for the help, again. I've tried everything now, to no avail. Thinking of petitioning EA and asking for my money back. Now *that* would be an epic quest...

I too have bought it and played it once. But now it says it's unauthorized. I'm logged in on the same account. Is it a timeframe for it? My internet is working as it should. Whar shall I do to make it work again. I can't play until it's working properly.=/

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but pretty much anytime you want to do anything with the DLC, download it, or run it, the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater needs to be running, as without it the game cannot verify what content you have the rights too.  It not running is a common cause for the DLC unauthorized problem.  To manually start it:

1) Exit the game

2) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

3) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

4) Right click it and select START

5) Start the game again.

If you have having problems with the service there are steps on how to reinstall it in section 3 of the Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ

I have tried all that, I just didn't want to bore you with the details :). When I manually start the content updater, I get an error message saying something along the lines of 'error 1053, the service did not start in a timely fashion'. I have tried the the solutions in section 3 of the FAQ, with the dos commands and everything, no difference. I do, however, have the impression I can get the updater running by clicking on the exe file in my Steam folder. That is, when I do that, the updater application appears in my Task Manager.

This makes no difference in game though. I can see both the Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep in my DLC tab but it is as if I have never bought and spent any points. I do not have a 'download' button. Of course, this might have to do with the fact that I have cleared the download cache, as was suggested in the FAQ. I would not like having to spend another 5 euros just to see if that works, as I already (should) own the Warden's Keep DLC. I have the email confirmation and it appears in my profile here as registered content.

Besides, even if I did, I would probably be right back at my original problem, which is that the download progress remains stuck at 0 %. Ofcourse, I hadn't tried clicking on the updater exe file in the steam folder, as I have now. I guess I need to find a way to get the Warden's Keep from the DLC tab into the Download in Progress tab without having to spend any additional money.

Prosperoo, you can see them in your DLC tab because the content updater service isn't running, so it can't tell the game you already own them, don't offer them for purchase. Don't buy them again.

Is your installation on some other drive then C:? I've seen people have problems getting the service working when its installed on another drive, particularly when its a not-commonly used drive letter.

Hi I have been trying differnt solutions from these forums , but still no luck. I have DAO on Steam, deluxe edition. I managed to get the blood armor and Stone prisoner downloaded and installed, but then i bought some tokens from the EA store and tried to get Wardens keep and Return to Ostagar. The tokens are shown as being 'spent' and the content was downloading, but then extracting, installing and then nothing! Have tried all sorts of options and am pretty stressed as I just want to play the game, not spend hours on websites and XP hell :( Can anybody provide an easy solution? thanks for your help :)

Steam handles DLC's differently to the boxed version of the game. You should be able to get help on the Steam forums here: http://forums.steamp...splay.php?f=751

Thanks, unfortunately they cant help either. If I buy a boxed version, can I get all the DLC without any bother? I have just tried a 'soultion' on the EA website and now all my DLC has been wiped (including the Stone Prisoner and Blood Armor!)

I'd email EA tech support if I were you. I know there was a longish thread on the Steam forums a few months ago that gave solutions for problems with the DLC you get with the collectors edition - it might be worth searching for that one. But if you've tried everything you could find then the official support from EA is really the only option.
