Is BSN the true and proper place to discuss this? Considering it's got a full complement of regular weirdo's/mad dudes/dudettes/kneejerkreactionists/full-onsexistsofbothgenders...THAT WOULD BE A VERY BAD IDEA

Which is exactly why it will become a meme that lasts forever. :D

(Okay, usually I don't explain the subtlety of what I say, but I will elaborate just a little... The only reason "sexbot" has caught on as much as it has, is because of all the people complaining about it. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying you've created the very meme you were attempting to destroy.)

It's going to stick. Combination of Jack and some angry poster here that complained about Bioware's sexism in creating this character. It can't be helped.

Why are people calling people who call the sexbot a sexbot, sexist? I thought the definition of sexism was, men have it and women want it.

IMO, feminism shouldn't even apply here. It's not actually a woman. It's a robot.

You're insinuating feminism is inherently unreasonable - all it actually means it not wanting to get paid less and not having someone tell you what to do with your own vagina. You're thinking of man-haters, who like to pretend their feminist, but are actually just bitc*y.

Sorry, it's a thing which bugs me! Lets not confuse the two.

Anyway long live sexbot!

Apologies, I probably shouldn't have used that word. Man-haters is a much better description, and yes it sucks they've adopted that term for themselves.

It was coined ironically by a female poster to mock the idea of everything having D cups, yet is also used by people who, well, have a robot fetish. Since a lot of people can identify with it, I'm guessing the nickname is going to stick.

It shall be called so until the end of time.

That's what you get when that's what you are. Or are you implying that the original design was not intended to allow infiltration through use of allure as well? Because frankly, that bodily design isn't really good for anything else.

I'm not even going to bother quoting the amount of facepalm and idiotic crap I've been reading here.

Twist it any way you want it's just plain insulting. Robots, feminism, 'bioware designed it like that', whatever other excuses; are all just that, poor excuses to act like immature idiots.

As if someone/something being/looking a female with a good body = sex. It's insulting, disgusting, shallow, demeaning and tasteless. But no apparently it's free for all to turn it into a lust object.

I don't care what Bioware chooses to put into the game, you don't have to run with it and take it a few steps further down the drain.

And don't even start with 'it's just a joke', it's no less demeaning to support such crap by pretending it's funny.

That is all I have to say on the matter.

Give. Me. A. Break. Look at the body. Look at it. Then tell me, straight-faced, that Bioware didn't have sex in mind, and a... certain... demographic in perticular, when they designed it.

People are taking it to the logical extreme precisely because it looks so damn ridiculous. If you want to play the offended virgin, fine by me,but don't claim moral superiority because of it.

If Jack hadn't called EDI a "sex bot" in ME2 I'd consider using it here to be immature, but since it was used within the game, even by a character with severe maturity problems, it's correct here.
"Boob bot" on the other hand, is totally immature and needs to stop right now! :P

Also, anyone who says it's demeaning has never heard how women refer to each other.  I've also heard the term "sausage fest" around here a few times too.  Goose/Gander and all that stuff.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this topic to be so srs.

I think sexbot is funny because in my mind it pokes fun at the sexualized body and whole "sex sells" motif. Not really any more serious than that, it's just amusing.

For me, it was never about being funny. She just looks like a sexbot. It's clean, concise, and much less of a jumble than Alliance Infiltration Unit Infiltrator.

Thus, I lovingly refer to her as the sexbot. Nothing immature about it.
