Ruck/The boy on the bridge at Lothering waiting for his mum/Amethyne

Yeah, I agree with Ruck, especially if you happen to have Zev with you because he insists that you put the poor guy out of his misery and there's nothing you can even do to stop him.  I was so pissed at Zevran, but I guess Ruck was better off.  Really sad. Image IPB

The tearful moments for me are not all of them sad, as I get easily touched by heroic moments, or whatever to call them.

The Calling: When the warden with the dog (forget the names) tries to leave the dog with the rest, to go and draw the darkspawn away from them, but the dog won't be left behind and insists on following his master and they go out in a blaze of glory together (damn, makes me teary eyed just writing about it)

DA:O: When the armies begin marching towards Denerim.

The end of the Dalish origin when my character must leave the clan and say goodbye to everyone and everything she has known her entire life.

Those are three moments I know I've had to wipe the tears away. Might have been a few more, but not what I can remember now.

Yeah, I know it was necessary, but I really liked Katriel and honestly I thought that maybe if Loghain had shared everything he knew with Maric including the fact that Katriel had severed her ties with Severan that maybe Maric would not have killed her.  He might have just locked her away and possibly could have forgiven her after he defeated the Orlesians.

I don't belive, even for a second, that it was necessary. Loghain is a ****.

Same here. Also Sten saying he had met only one warrior worthy of fighting with in his travels.

When Bann Teagan realize it's over, after killing the Archdemon... that was really touching.

I'm going to put forth the City Elf Origin. I sometimes wish Vaughn had more health so his death dragged on longer. Its very moving.

The speeches at the Denerim Ctiy gates as the end were wondeful. If you have Oghren on near max approval at the end. . . wow. He thoroughly supplanted Alistair as my favorite character after that.

I wish the publishing world would just have a standard "universal" license where anyone from anywhere in the world can buy any book available especially if they are available online as Ebooks. *sad camper*
And yes, I have never got the chance to read the ME books either unless I order them in and pay silly shipping charges which can cost as much or more then books themselves.

*edit* hit the submit button before my thought process completed.
Cont from above:

So I can only post  from the game itself which was when I did the ultimate sacrifice and romanced an unhardened Lelianna. The ending cut scene and then finally Lelianna's epilogue text had my heart in my mouth and tears in my ears when I realised that it implied that she had lost her hold on sanity and chose suicide to rejoin the one she loved.
This effected all my other playthroughs as I would never romance her ever again unless my pc intends to stay with her. Thus I will almost always take the "Dark Promise" because I rather romance her then Morrigan.

I thought Oghren's "let's show them our hearts, then show them theirs" speech was great, but then I finished one playthrough with him maxed out, and I second your "wow". All the other companions appreciate you, but he was the only one that I felt truly loved you like family (with the exception of a romanced Alistair, of course, and his "I love you...always." Sigh....).

Another touching game moment is the eulogy your sacrificed character gets from Alistair if he's in love with you and you've left him at the gate instead of bringing him to fight the archdemon. :crying:

The whole scene with the last goodbyes at the Gates of Denerim is so touching. Favourites are Oghren and Morrigan. I love it when you have Morrigan at max approval and friend. The way she says "Live gloriously!" is just amazing.

For me my ball my eyes out moments were with Kell and his dog...Poor puppy he was as much a Grey Warden as anyone else. Duncan finding out that Genevie actually hates his guts and wanted him dead. Maric killing Katriel (Yes I know what she did was wrong, and she realized it in the end) I think what really got me was when she told Maric that she loved him and he ran her through I balled like a babyImage IPB Julien and Nicholas in the fade..God that was so sad Image IPB

Leliana's song very tearful moment. Dalish Elf Orgin when you are saying good-bye to your clan. Seeing your father in the gauntlet. That was a damn you BioWare moment. Alistair telling my PC that he would love her...always.

Why did you start this thread...Now I'm tearing up again Image IPBImage IPB Who has the tissues?

The Stolen Throne: when the previously unsupportive bann came to Maric with all his supplies and men to pledge his loyalty.

The Calling: the scene of Kell and Hafter before leaving to lead the darkspawn away.

The game: Oghren naming his child after the PC (and crying) - Ultimate Sacrifice ending

The werewolves saying goodbye to the Lady. Touching.

And this is not really sad, but Garin the lyrium addicted dwarf is very adorable and I sympathise with him alot.

There's quite a few moments in the game for me, the city elf origin as a female gets me the most though. Leliana's song is a close second though :)

Oh, I am such a Kell fangirl after reading The Calling.  There's just something about him that is so intriguing.  I think it's those unnaturally pale eyes and his hunter sense or whatever you want to call it.  And he loves his dog!!! Image IPBImage IPB I prefer the younger version of Kell when he's in the fade, however, when he has long dark hair, a short dark beard, and tribal tattoos on his arms- Uber Sexy! But the bald Kell is good too. Image IPB

All of the companion goodbyes were done very well, I think.  They all had me crying, but especially Alistair if you're in a romance with him.  That line about loving you always had me bawling like a baby.  The voice actor did an excellent job.  Alistair sounded like he was on the verge of tears as well. I liked that part also!  I could almost hear music from the game in my mind while reading it.

I also got sniffly about Ruck.  I usually have Zevran with me in my games, but I have yet to take him to the Deep Roads.  Knowing what happens, I might never do that.  (Well, I might, just to see and then reload.)

I don't doubt that the Fade scene with Nicolas and Julien was difficult to write.  When I read it I had to put the book down and take a few big gulps (and get a few tissues). Kell's also got to me.  Heck, the whole Fade sequence got to me!  It was very poignant.

The goodbyes always get to me and it's always someone different.  This time it was Shale about how if the dragon ate me and pooped me out logic would dictate that I'd land on her.  I was laughing and crying at the same time.

Let's see... When Alistair dumped my poor Elf mage after the Landsmeet. I am so glad no one else was awake when that happened because I bawled and then felt like a moron. LOL

The end dialogue before Fort Drakon. I had high approval ratings with everyone and the good-byes left me very teary.

The City Elf storyline played from a feamle perspective got me nice and riled. I don't think I got as bloodthirsty at any other point in the game. And when the guard says "Oh sod," I know I baredx my teeth. Hubby was most amused at my running commentary through the next few fight scenes.

Seeing Gorim in Denerim as a royal dwarf female. The first time I played through and got his regretful "I'm married" garbage... Let's just say I have only recently started partonizing him. I was furious and felt so bad for my dwarf... It was like a kick in the teeth. Oh, and their good-byes before she was sent into the Deep Roads -- which only made Denerim more bittter...

The RP in this game is just awe-inspiring. I'm getting angry just thinking about Gorim right now. LOL

Definitely the farewell before the final battle. One of the most moving moments i ever played in a game.
