His 'death' seems rather ambiguous to my tastes, maybe he was marooned on a primitive island somewhere. He has too much character to die just like that.

I can see him strolling up to the shores of Ferelden sipping on Kahlua's and women under each arm.

Seriously though, I'm just getting a feel for his character while reading though the first book. I'd be nice to see him in game, even in a flash back or something.

I really hope we get to see him in either an expansion or a sequel.  After reading the books, I absolutely fell in love with Maric.

Hmm, not really what I was thinking an older Maric would have looked like, but oh well.  So he was supposed to have been in the Fade part originally?  Man, too bad they didn't keep him in that part.  It would have been better for Alistair to have had Maric than irritating Goldanna.

Some of Wynne's old dialogue suggests that Loghain was at one point possible to recruit before the Circle. That's a perfect place to stick in Maric.

Yes, that (young appearanced) Maric is from the Fade nightmare of Loghain by his description. Note that he's the younger version. There is no area called Loghain's Nightmare though. Yet another thing canceled from the game, I guess?

I would loved to have seen that instead of "Can you make more of your mince pie Goldanna?" Uggh I wanted to puke!  But it makes since it would have been Loghain's nightmare, not Alistair's.  I just would have never thought about Loghain having been recruitable at that point in the game.  I'm glad they left it the way it is then because it makes more sense at the end this way.

Same here.  He is a delightfully refreshing character. 

As for his return... I wouldn't bet on it, but it would certainly make my day. I wonder what he'd have to say about the current situation in Ferelden and the way things have evolved, including the battle at Ostagar.

Well, I hope they do bring him back but sexier than that picture of him that was posted earlier.  I mean he can't be that old can he?  Maybe 40's, early 50's.  Anyway, that guy in the picture looks nothing like Cailan or Alistair and they are supposed to take after their dad (considering the fact that they look like twins anyway).  And just thinking about Maric and Alistair making goofy jokes all the time to each other just brings a warm smile to my face.
