I found the bi issue disturbing in Dragon Age II where every romanceable character would try to hit on you no matter what, but gay romance lines in ME3 can easily be avoided, so I don't see a problem there.

Granted this was in ME1 when we're learning about each races biology, but it makes Shepard look like a muppet every time I go back and play it.

Maybe, but it's so insignificant, and I like I said doesn't affect you or for that matter anyone or anything else, that it really, really doens't matter. The story isn't compromised, and Kaidan is the exact same character he was in the last two games. 

Besides if shepard would have been gay you can bet that jack would have made a wise crack about it in ME2.

And... what? So he liked girls, and now he likes both. 

Nothing changes, and nothing negative happens to the story or Kaidan as a character. Why should anyone who doesn't romance him as male Shepard care?

There are 2 possible POV's:

Asari POV: No gender.
Outside POV: Asari are female.

Thats a tough one...... id say curing under Wreav, because it is possible however unlikely that the Krogan would get out of control even under Wrex

True, and also nobody would call a maleshep that romances Liara gay. From an outside POV, they are female.

Liara looks female but mono gender doesnt make her female. You dont have the male/female seperation.
Femshep might like girls but Maleshep doesnt like guys or has shown any sign of it ever

Monogender is how we see it. For the asari its the norm they dont know the male&female seperation

Helping Wreav along is more of a lulzy thing to do, far as I am concerned. Of course, one "fail"/lulz-situation leading up to that would be offing Wrex in ME1 in the first place...easily avoidable, that.

Exactly. Way it works, once Shepards are flagged as "female" via hex-editing, the dialogue between the two works just fine. Minus backdrops in certain cut-scenes where Hale's VA would play instead of Meer's.

Same is true for Williams in ME1, only reverse. And, apparently, they intended for her to have a re-orientation in that regard in ME3 too, judging by certain dry-dock conditions there. Most notable of which would be flawless dialogue for the memorial-scene if a romance is flagged for Femshep.
Is a "re-orientation" bad, in that regard? Hardly; few years go by, it is a rather liberal future ME depicts all things told. And people's preferences can change.

Since neither Shepard nor the player are asari it's safe to say that FemShep is bi or gay if she wants to be with Liara.

If FemShep can be bi or gay, so can BroShep and it certainly doesn't count as fail or a joke. (Please, contact Mark Meer and try to tell him that!)
