So? I'll say again, it doesn't negatively affect you, the story, or Kaidan as a character, so why do you care if it's bad writing and pandering?and once again its pandering and bad writing.
Her gender being defined as female, makes her female.Liara looks female but mono gender doesnt make her female.
Big woop, now he does. Why do you care? You dont have the male/female seperation. Femshep might like girls but Maleshep doesnt like guys or has shown any sign of it ever

Not so much "fail" as just plain evil. Though I hear she comes back from the dead to romance Shepard before Cronos if you do that. Got past quality control - I guess they didn't count on Talimancers doing that.kathic wrote...

Your sexuality doesnt change over night like it did with Kaidan

Because its bad writing and pandering

Her gender being defined as female, makes her female. The asari are mono-gendered species because the asari species only has one gender, and it's female.
A guy can dress like a girl and look like a girl but he wont be a girl
Asari look female for us but the male/female seperation doesnt apply to them. They reproduce via parthenogenesis

Maybe its just Shep being really drunk and having a guilt dream?

One could hope. From the vid I saw on youtube, Shepard is... disturbingly dismissive about killing seventeen million people.kathic wrote...

Shepard suddenly turning gay and having sex with kaidan or that whiny pilot
Why?
It was just pandering to the LBGT community. In ME2 Bioware Hudson and Muzyka even adressed the issue when asked why there are no gay romances. Then suddenly out of nowhere a established character turns bi and we get a whiny stereotype. Dont even get me started on miss i schlick to edis voice.

How do you Kaidan's sexuality changed overnight? About two and half years pass between ME1 and ME3.
Because its bad writing and pandering
That doesn't negatively affect you.

All irrelevant. The codex defines the asari as an all-female species, they act like human women, talk like human women, and more or less look like human women. A femshep who romances Liara is clearly attracted to a girl, making femshep a lesbian.

Imagine all those poor people. You know why no one say anything, ever? Because remembering it would drive them insane. And the fact that Jack is the only one ot say anything about it proves my point.
...Now that I think of it, Shepard should have danced for the Catalyst and the Reapers, it would have most likely broke them

And I didn't want to get drawn into this argument, but... The statements concerning K-man and Shep being gay/bi as 'bad writing' assumes that everybody knows instinctively what gender they like (if any) from birth, and are unable to change their minds.
Although, you may have a point. It's not like somebody could feasibly think they were straight for a portion of their life, just because society has taught them it's the norm from day 1... Oh wait a sec...
Plus, Shep is hot. If there's anybody in the universe that can turn a straight-guy gay (and vice versa) it's probably the Saviour of the Galaxy.

The intent being that if you have gays have them from the start and dont change them in the last chapter.
The intent being that if you have gays dont make them look like stereotypes.
But since BSN has their heads so far up their asses things like that can only be taken as hate against gays when its a matter of good writing.

I watched his date with BroShep on YouTube and it didn't seem like his sexuality changed over night. He admits to being lonely wanting companionship in a friend he's known and trusted for years.

1. "A mono-gender race—distinctly feminine in appearance and having maternal instincts"
Implied female for outside races but not female

Hell, maybe he was just in the closet in ME1. Or maybe he didn't hit on Dudeshep because Kaidan in the Dudeshep universe is a bigger stickler for regs than Ashley, but once the war's started and the Reapers are burninating everything he figures "hell with it". Either of those scenarios (and many others besides) are perfectly plausible headcanons, without requiring any changes in the actual in-game interactions.

Sexuality is not a computer system, there are no rules. People change their sexuality all the time.
1. "A mono-gender race—distinctly feminine in appearance and having maternal instincts"
Implied female for outside races but not female
Read the codex then.
Not that it matters. Whatever sex the asari are, it doesn't change the fact that clearly a femshep romancing Liara likes girls.
2. Femshep might be gay but not Maleshep.
It's perfectly possible to play a Shepard who does not define his sexuality.
Because its bad writing and pandering
And that's bad because?

Heck, it's perfectly possible to play a Male Shepard who is absolutely gay! The first two games don't spontaneously uninstall themselves if you don't romance anybody.
Edit: argh, stop derailing, self! Hmm, on topic: *not* punching Miranda when she brings up Shepard's experiences on Akuze at the beginning of ME2.
