I disappointed in the arrival in dlc of the female Turian Cabal.

Everything is wrong with it from once again an underdone vangaurd with insufficient shields and especially health...why? bopware? vangaurds are more stronger in armor and health in splayer how bout squaring the ledger here?

Cabal is especially vulnerable in gold and platinum.

Poison darts are it best power. But it teleports way too quickly and too far- there is nothing measured or moderate about the distance it teleports.

Way too easy to teleport more times than intended.

IT great at teleporting from side to side. but for instance when attempting to retreat the same mechanics do not apply it cannot teleport backwards when attempting to back away from enemies.

I know the Talon is majorly glitched but at least the mechanics work.

IT appears bioware truly rushed the mechanics of the Cabal.

Who else is disappointed with Cabal and why? or if you do like it why do you think it so great?

I don't actually have it yet, but the Cabal seems fantastic to me. I've been watching people wreck with it all day yesterday.

And especially given how heavily oriented cabal is in short range attacks, and melee strike, you think if anything it would be one of the more heavily armored or have more health than most other vanguards no?

500 health
750 shields

Rank 6 of biotic focus has an evolution to restore shields

I was thinking, it wasn't good but that could be me. Hopefully someone will find a good gold build and share it

I liked the Cabal and liked using hit and run tactics with her. Didn't have any issues with her other than just getting used to the new kit.

She has a good melee build but Phantoms strike you in mid air on Poison dash or the teleporting heavy melee. On geth though I was turning those punks inside out with hit and move then dash.

Very skill intensive class.

Use her on gold. Don't have a problem. Hit and run tactics. L2P.

I've noticed a few bugs after playing one game with her.

Yes hit and run i was thinking it seems very restrictive to that tactic i thought vanguards are supposed to be a bit stronger up close and personal too. to be abkle to stay in spot it charges to before just leaping off striaght to next target
i wonder..is it a more vanguard support type class?
rather than a primary frontline trooper? a new type of vanguard?

I've wrecked plat with her as soon as I got her, I don't see what you mean, she's a little tricky to play, an she is supposed to be weak on shields and health that's why she has the biotic adlrenaline rush and moves so very fast and can use her poison strike to go ANYWHERE away from enemies, all I have to say is try different builds or practice with her, you can't afford to miss but god help the enemies if you hit em

-also I'm on my smartphone so if autocorrect screwed anything over I'm not fixing it

I came to the conclusion that I will need a lot more practice with her. I didn't realize that the poison spikes were a grenade ability rather than something like ballistic blades which is a real put off.

I had a very hard time actually making good use of the poison biotic charge and ended up in bad spots more than I would have liked.

I have another thread going on build strategies, but this character is excellent. There's just a high skill floor. See the "Creativity with the Cabal" thread.

Actually, I love her, and I think she is fine as she is.
Maybe that"s because I always like high mobility, high risk high reward characters, but I find her to be perfectly viable, even in gold and platinum.

Yeah, the skill cap seems bigger that most of the new characters, but it was the same with the Drellguard or the Slayer.

So, she hasn't that much shield and health, but she has 3 teleporting abilities : Dodge / Heavy Melee / Poison Strike.

I mostly use Poison Strike as a mobility ability, since, indeed, the only complaint I could have is that it seems to have some problems to register the hits, but when it does, it's perfect. Took it with the double strike, since I found out that the reduced range is actually an advantage, allowing for more control over her.
That, coupled with her dodges and heavy melee allows you to teleport all around the place, getting in security when things tend to go bad, behind a wall or in cover.

Then, the poison ballistic blades.

Awesome crowd control / debuff ability, not even triggering a cooldown since it's on grenades.
Perfect for her hit and run style.

Finally, the Biotic Buff which can recharge your shields allowing you to get away if needed.

I
really don't see what could be wrong with her other that the poison
strike hitscan which seems a little wonky, but other than that, she is
perfect.

Assassin kind vanguard for me, taking out mobs quickly before retreating and attacking again.

What I found is that poison strike is VERY underwhelming for an offensive ability.  It misses most of the time even when it seems it should hit on perfectly straight floors.  If you use it offensively, it puts you in bad situations that you don't have the defenses to survive.  Additionally, while she has strong melees, she has no good means of survival (low damage reduction compare to other classes and no passive regen mechanic) so she can't really use them.

The only effective play I've seen with her is skipping or only putting 3 points in Poison Strike (for mobility to run away), and maxing biotic focus and Nightshade Blades.  Nightshade is a VERY powerful grenade, but has a lot of usage restrictions (max 3 targets, short range, can't paralyze most enemies in gold/plat) so there are better options.

Until they give the class some form of health and/or shield regen (probably through poison strike) that isn't a weak 40% recharge on a cooldown, it's simply not as good as other options for higher difficulties.  IMO the weakest kit in the new DLC for high difficulties, which is a shame because it's the kit I was most looking forward to.

Started playing her a lot more and she grew on me. I have her specced 6/6/6/4/4 and do well with her on gold. I don't get why you are saying she needs more health and shields since majority of the vanguards have lower half and shields than her.

she can be up close and personal like every other vanguard. put an adrenaline mod 3, speccing into biotic focus to reduce damage, movement speed and shield restore can make her tanky. her charge can set off biotic explosions and poison them at the same time. it just takes getting used to because you can't treat her as a novaguard or kroguard.

I agree with Aethyl. The only trouble i've had using her is the Poison Strike. Sometimes it hits sometimes it wont. Either way it's a good escape tactic.

Host when playing her, it's an usual problem on vanguards.

I played her without hosting but yeah, it doesn't help.

What weapons/builds are you guys using with her? I tried several different weapons and nothing so far has seemed to work, I just don't seem get any kills at all (except with the nighshade darts, they're amazing).

I use her with the executioner pistol with the melee and power accessory.

Just because I love the feeling of that gun.

That, or Blood Pack Punisher SMG.

i tried her once, i think there will be a bit of a challenge learning how to use her properly. Not ready to say she's rubbish, I think i just didnt get a good feel for her yet. Kept forgetting to trigger biotic focus.

Biotic focus should restore half shields naturally and full shields in rank six. Poison strikes damage is way too low. The blades are great but they are too weak to warrant a grenade cost it should become a standard power. Her base shields are low but it is workable. She is a memes or dot class that can not apply dots in close range without spamming rank six biotic focus. She is decent but needs fine tuning.
