 So what people think about this gear? It is worthy to replace strong gears on Batarians like weapons damage bonus or shields bonus. The old heavy melee attack was strong but maybe too slow.

I think there's a certain niche of characters it can work with. Namely the volus vanguard and the quarians

I like the lol's of putting it on a Volus. Probably not the most effective use of it but I don't care, haha.

Question about this gear, so has it been established that it replaces both the animation and base melee damage? What I mean is, if you sprint and then do the original melee, is the gear's damage still in place? I'm also assuming that by replacing the base damage, all fitness/mod/enhancers will work the same way and not be simply limited to the gear's damage level?

Maybe those are too many 'in-depth' questions that will have to wait until Cyonan does more testing..
