This r&r dlc, post breath scene.

That, assuming it fits the narrative. I was no fan of the original ending as I felt it detoured from the main themes of the game. I would have preferred a more solid ending that reflected your choices and war asset acquisition more clearly. That system could have added a deep layer of gameplay to the game rather than just a number, so not having those assets visually or manually utilized in the final push was an unfortunate misstep.

I also would have preferred a solid ending with less speculation. I could fanfic my own story and that's not why I played so many different Sheps. Speculation can work fine when you stick it into a 2 hour movie with a narrative shaped to make you think about a certain point, not so much when it's shoehorned into the end of an epic RPG, action trilogy space drama when all you want to see is how the story ends. See being the operative word.

I think all that needs to be said about the Catalyst has been said so I won't rehash that. I could have lived with his inclusion had it been better handled and had a more varied outcome. As is the ending left too many questions still unanswered and presented you with three scenarios and a new character right at the end that you have absolutely no reason to believe and yet must accept what he says at face value.

That's how I feel about the endings as they are even post-EC.

That being said, I know BioWare has some of the absolute best story writers this industry has to offer and this may just be a theme that's setting up whatever comes next for mass Effect, or it may be conviniently forgotten if they go the dreaded prequel route.

Assuming we go forward in the series, what I and some others view as a "bad ending" may be a clever twist in the plot. One can only hope, right?

Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoyed all three games. They were a fantastic adventure and story. I just think, in my opinion, the ending just falls flat. It to me felt as though they tried to shove a deep message in there at the last second and it just felt forced.

I'm sure others disagree but that's just my opinion as constructive and critically as I can think to give it at this moment.
